Do I need Growing, Growing Strong for OM?

We're using the OM K curriculum and the only thing I don't have is the Growing, Growing Strong book. Do I need this? Is the book worth purchasing?

I had a look at it at a friend's house yesterday, and it's not something I would bother with, personally. It doesn't have the same feel as the other OM materials at all. It seems more like it's something they threw in there for people concerned with covering 'required' health studies. This is just my opinion after a very quick browse through the book.

We bought a good one used on Amazon.com called "Healthy Me" that I like. Normally I wouldn't bother with anything for this subject, but it was like $5, and is hands-on learning based.

So, it isn't a requirement for K to have Health/Phy Ed??

I don't know. Who sets your requirements? Around here, we (the kids and I) set them - so no, not if we don't want it to be!

Same here. I also passed on the growing strong book.

I waited and waited and waited to get this on ebay at a good price, and was very, very disappointed.

I got it as part of the OM package.. hate it, it's totally not geared towards homeschoolers at all. I can find a million better ways to help my kiddos learn about health & how to be healthy just in every day stuff! : Definitely don't bother with it imo. It'll be collecting dust on my shelf forever *sigh*
