Brennan, I know that there is a HUGE AP group in Calgary. One of the mama's in the AP group in Lethbridge used be in it.

If you are on Facebook, I think you may be able to find it? Otherwise, I think they may be on Yahoo Groups. But there definitely is a huge AP group there

The Lethbridge AP group is meeting tomorrow at kinsmen park at 10:30am and again at 2:00pm. And the Lethbridge Babywearers are meeting on Thursday at 9:30am at Kinsmen Park!

I'm in the Calg too. Used to involved in the AP group but it's gotten way way way too huge for me... don't like that uber-group feeling, where I'm always feeling sheepish for not remembering peoples' names, or whether I'd already met them or not... If anyone's in a smaller group in Calgary, I'd love to hook up.

Anyway, I'm here, have been for years (just changed my username tho so it looks like I've just come along).

I'm in the Crowsnest Pass... not far from Lethbridge. It's our 'city' when we have to go which is nice, because Calgary is too nuts for me!!

I have a question for any mamas on here who've had a homebirth. (I know there's at least one...)

How do you locate a Registration of Birth form from the Alberta gov't? I can't seem to find one online and any site that mentions it just says 'your hospital will submit this for you'. My midwife is from out of province (and out of Canada, for that matter) and hasn't given me anything yet.

Hey Jess!!

Just ask Ollie, I believe she has some copies and gave me one to fill out and send in.

You can also call vital statistics and request the paperwork. Be prepared, you need to do a little bit more work when you use an unregistered midwife. Basically just have to prove you were pregnant and that you are who you say you are. So if you're seeing a dr. at all you could get a letter from them stating that you are indeed pregnant.

It took me so long to get Aisha's birth certificate because of all the legality stuff.

But ya, just ask Ollie, she does alot of Alberta births, so she should have some forms, you'll just have to mail them in.
