Is there anyone else here who is pregnant for the first time?
I just found out I was pregnant yesterday!! We were going to wait until next year if I didn't get pregnant this month, so I guess it was meant to be!

Congrats Stevi!

What books are you reading while pregnant? My friend gave me some really good ones you might want to check out...

"The Thinking Women's Guide to a better birth" (a REALLY good read)
"The Complete book of pregnancy and childbirth" by Sheila Kitzinger (just skimmed but looked awesome)

I'm not reading anything yet. But I do have a long list of "must reads" from all of my online friends. I'll add yours to the list! I may start out with those available on audio cd, since I spend over 10 hours a week in a car.

This is the first time for me being pregnant! I'm starting to read "What to Expect..." and have started filling out "The Belly Book". It was the best journal I could find.

I highly recommend reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth. It is the absolute best book for a pregnant woman, in my opinion. I also second Sheila Kitzinger's book. I read it during my doula training and re-read when my last pregnancy started. I haven't read What To Expect....but from those I have talked to who have read that and the ones already posted, I would return What To Expect. Another great one is The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth. Can't remember who it's by, but it is awesome!

Books by Ina May are very informative and promote natural pregancy/birth without trying to scare you (like some of the tomes out there). I also love books by Penny Simkin, especially Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Newborn. I've got a library of Dr. Sears books for after the baby is born, but haven't read his pregnancy book.

This is my first too. :::: I am so excited I can barely contain myself. Does anyone else have this nagging worry that AF will show up any moment? How long until that goes away.

As for reading, I got the Pregnancy and Birth book written by the folks who did "Our Bodies Ourselves" I love their work.

^^yes, i have that suspicion, too, evening start. but, my the lines on my tests keep getting darker, so i'm focusing on that. i honestly think it's because i've never NOT gotten my AF, so i'm expecting it to show...not that i don't have faith in being pg...just more that it's so new that it's hard to believe. :

btw, congrats to you!

My first too. I can hardly believe it. So far I feel no different. I had light cramps yesterday and the day before but not unlike pre-AF cramps. It is hard to take to little lines on a stick at face value. Really!?!?!

Today I wore one of my favorite skirts that I know will be one of the first to go to the back of the closet. It is pretty small... Plan on getting all the miles out my skinny clothes in case I never fit into them again. It is crazy exciting!

Yup, this is also my first, and a complete surprise to boot. I'm currently living abroad in China too, so this has been quite... interesting to say the least. I can't wait to get to know all you ladies better. I always said I'd join up here when faced with the prospect of children (of course I didn't expect it so soon!) so here I am!

Congrats, everyone!

Me! It's my first. Most of my friends have had at least one child already and I am so excited that it's finally my turn.

its my first too I have been looking for AF every time I go for 2 days now, she's not coming. Its strange.

Its taken me so long to get here it doesn't feel real. I guess I should give it some time to sink in (literally and figuratively!)
