Jewish religious objection letter in IL

Thread Starter
Hi -

I need help with writing a religious objection letter today (or tomorrow) as my daughter enters a new school system (Wilmette Public Schools) in Illinois.

I'm reading that in IL we now have to cite a specific religious objection to each vaccine we have refused to administer to our child. In addition, most sample religious objection letters on web sites cite Christian and New Testament objections that are not appropriate for us as Jewish parents.

I love the letter someone recently posted on this forum which cited personal religious beliefs about natural immunity, etc., but am concerned I will need to now research the ingredients in each vaccine and respond to each one!

If anyone has any good references from Hebrew scriptures and / or has experience with this new ruling and how to respond to the ingredients in individual vaccinations on religious grounds, please help!

Thank you advance for any answers you may have to these two questions.

Why couldn't you do a one-liner that just says.. I hold a sincere religious conviction preventing the vaccination of my child; and just sign it. They don't need to know the exact religious affiliation or bible quotes.

I found this on another site if you want to be specific in your letter. I have found being bland or non-specific gets the message across and leaves little for interpretation.

My/our child's body is the temple of God.
My/Our family's personal religious beliefs prohibit the injection of foreign
substances into our bodies. To inject into my/our child any substance which
would alter her/his state into which he/she was born would be to criticize
God and question His divine omnipotence. My/Our faith will not allow us
to question our God nor to challenge His divine power.

My/Our objection is based on my/our lifelong, deeply-held religious beliefs.

The vaccination of my/our child violates laws put forth within us by a higher force at the time of conception.

My/Our personal religious beliefs include my/our obedience to God's law, the
Ten Commandments, and I/we believe that I/we am/are responsible before Godfor the life and safety of my/our child, created by God.

this was not a legal exemption (we live overseas) but this is part of what I wrote to my child's Jewish School

"One or more aspects of vaccination (I.E. Blood polluting ingredients, cruelty to animals, desecration of the body, cells and tissues originating from aborted fetal cells, etc.) are in direct violation of the doctrines of Judaism and in fact all five of the world's major religions."
