Nasty Virus in Seattle area?!

I was wondering if there is some nasty cold/flu virus going around? I live on the Peninsula (Olympic) and have been to Seattle a bit recently. Anyhow me and DH have this horrible insidious virus that went away and now came back, like flu, aches, weakness, lethargy, stomach sensitive (initially) and then cold, cough and nasal discharge. Doing all the right things but its been 2 or 3 weeks now and while we are better we seem to be in a second wave of it. Anyhow else had that recently? Or am I insane!?! Thanks!

I don't currently know anyone who is sick but I from what you describe my whole family had that in late April (and for me and dh it lasted 3.5-4 weeks).

Thanks! Well apparently its still going around! DD got it first but she is ok now so thats good, nothing worse than a sick 4 yo except a sick DH!

we totally had that virus some weeks ago. it takes a looooong time to go away.

Thanks! I could not figure out why I was feeling so weak and pathetic! Its a horrible virus. I am sure they are all mutating from all the drugs people use these days. The Oscillinococcinum really has turned it around for me though if anyone else gets it!

DD has had a cold for the last week but not that bad. But last year around Thanksgiving I had a virus that was just AWFUL. It bowled me over and I was sick for weeks.

I am on day 14 of it and yesterday was the first day where I really started to feel better. I also had a sinus infection at the start of it. The wierd thing was my whole family had been out of town for 2 weeks prior and got back the day before I started having symptoms... My whole family has had it, but I got it first. Really knocked us on our a$$es!!!

I work in an ER and have noticed that there is a tummy bug going around - nausea,vomiting, diarrhea... but then again maybe there is something else going around but they just aren't all bringing it to the er.

Are you getting a body rash at all? My husband and daughter just contracted fifth disease mid-July-ish (I'm thinking my daughter picked it up at daycare?). They both had all the symptoms you mentioned, plus my daughter looked like she had a heat rash over her entire torso... (my husband didn't get the rash). For each of them it took about 2.5-3 weeks to recover.
