Positive stories re: big baby needed! - Page 2

DD1 was 10 lbs at 40 weeks and DD2 was 9 lb 9 oz at 39 weeks. I had just over 2 hours of labor with each of them and they came out quick, 7 minutes and then 3 minutes of pushing. Both were a lot easier than my 8 lb 3 oz DS (hospital birth)!

My first baby was 8.12 with 24 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing.

My second baby was 10.2 with 9 hours of labor and 17 minutes of pushing. I didn't tear any more or less and it wasn't any harder.

IMO, the hardest part about having a big baby is carrying them around in utero for those last few days/week.

My first two were both 8lb 1.6 oz exactly. So, I was kinda expecting the same for my third. I was so surprised when she was born 9lb 10 oz. She was born at home. No tears, THANK YOU BIRTHING TUB! I labored in tub, but she was born landside. I personally think the big babies "handle" life outside the womb better. All the little 6 pounders seem too delicate and seem to go to the hospital for something! At least in my little world. My hubby was over 11 pounds and his momma also gave birth au natuale. She said the only sad part was coming home and having to box up ALL the clothes she had washed--he was already too big!

I was 10 lbs 4 oz when I was born 24.5 years ago at home in my mother's bedroom. I was 2 weeks late and she ate ice cream for the last month.

My BFF had a 10+ pounder, and the little stinker insisted on coming out face up (posterior). Water labor, no episitomy, small tear (2 stitches, and she really wonders if they were even necessary).
