We've been at baseline for quite some time. DD has normal, solid big kid poop ever since she started solids a few months ago. They are usually nice and soft and normal but she sometimes gets constipated for a few days and then her poop is kind of a big mash of various little harder poops all stuck together. Lovely I know. Ever since I started giving her flax everyday the constipation has gone way down. Anyhow, often when there are little bits of harder poop all smashed together it appears that there are the teeniest, tiniest little bits of mucous in between. When the poop is soft and normal I never see any of this and if I smash the hard poop all together (one of my new hobbies
) the "mucous" becomes invisible and I can't find any of it. This has been happening for a while - it's not brand new - and it has not gotten worse or different. I am wondering if it's possible for this tiniest bit of mucous to generate when there is irritation in her colon due to the constipation or what, since it doesn't happen with the soft poops. Now that I've said the word "poop" about 8,000 times I think I'll stop. Thanks for any input.
