a month or so ago someone posted the colors and planets associated with the days of the week....so how do you know which day is supposed to be for baking, gardening, cleaning, etc? Is there a set schedule for certain activities based on those colors of the day?

From A Little Garden Flower--
Day, planet, color, grain:

Monday, moon, violet, rice
Tuesday, mars, red, barley
Wednesday, mercury, yellow, millet
Thursday, jupiter, orange, rye
Friday, venus, green, oats
Saturday, saturn, blue, corn
Sunday, sun, white, wheat

I'm not sure if you are supposed to do certain activities...we try to bake with those grains on those days. Its a fun way to eat a variety, hmmm...let me see

The activities seem to vary with the school. Monday is often baking day, tuesday painting. Throw in gardening, coloring, beeswax, handwork, talking a walk, cooking. I think the important thing is to do the same thing every week.

Our family rhythm is based on what the planet of that day would indicate.

Sunday: Fire element, physical activity, outdoors -- take a walk
Monday: Water element, emotions, illusion -- watercolor painting
Tuesday: Fire, action, -- cooking (usually hot soup over a flame)
Wednesday: Air, communication, always a changeable day -- handwork/beeswax/coloring together while storytelling
Thursday: Fire, abundance, -- baking
Friday: Air, love, fertility -- gardening
Saturday: Earth, maintaining order, reconnection -- cleaning

It works for us!

thanks all...this is what i was wanting to discuss..

thanks you for the grain idea and the elemental activities-that is all new to me :

i'd love to hear more

i am struggling with the type of order and rhythm so many of you have found...it seems to be sorta out of character for me but i totally see it's importance....

i like reading what others are doing since it encourages me
