My father lives in the Albany area. He's also crazy for Christmas! He goes crazy every year and nothing I say will stop him! Soooo, I'm looking for stores that he can shop at (not an online shopper....he needs to be there and in the Christmas moment) for great wooden toys, books, imaginative things and the like. Any other recommendations for NFL or green living kind of places would be great, too! Thanks!

Shoot, why can't I remember the name of that store at Crossgates Mall ... I think it starts with a "Z"????? I don';t even know if it's still around, it's been years since I was last there ... we used to get Thomas the Tank Engine stuff there.

Saratoga has G.Williker's ...

It's a bit of a hike, but there is the most incredible toy store in Greenville NY called Lime Gazelle.

In Albany there's a whole shopping plaza called Stuyvesant Plaza, on western ave (route 20) with a few great options. The Little Book House (next to the Book House) has great selections of books and some toys, and down the way there's another toys store, but I can't think of the name....

The Toy Maker in Stuyvesant Plaza is pretty decent. They have a good selection of wooden toys, playmobil, and soft dolls. I purchased the Haba wooden block marble maze last year for my son for Christmas.
