measles outbreaks... I did an interview on our local TV station...

It's currently on the home page of www.woio.com. Denise Zarrella was
the reporter, so if it's not on the home page when you get to around
to it, maybe it will come up with a search for her name.

I was scared to death before the interview. Then it was like two old
friends just sitting down to talk (which it was - Denise and I worked
together at CNN back in the 1990s). She is trying to get pregnant and
is very interested in the topic. But she had never heard of not
vaccinating before she and I reconnected. It's just something
you "do."

We spoke for about 45 minutes and she was only able to take a few
sound bites to make a 1:10 piece. I think what she chose was good,
although I do wish she had used my bites about 1) school exemptions
and 2) the fact that MORE than HALF the people with measles are FULLY
VACCINATED!

Just wanted to share...

From an NVIC press release. Only 63 were unvaccinated.

It's not up on the homepage yet. Do you know when it will air? I'm in Akron and would like to watch it. So how did you end up getting an interview?

It's up there... On the left side of the page (more in the middle, really) it's the third story down...

I'm glad you had the Aviva Jill Romm book, and I noticed at the end of the clip they showed it in the still! That was great, maybe it will get people interested to read it.

Very good. I love how they didn't make you seem like the anti-christ for not vaccinating.

Most of the ones who were unvaccinated and got the disease were deliberately trying to get the disease so that they could acquire natural immunity.

I am wondering why the vaccine did not work for the six who were FULLY VACCINATED and the FIVE who were partially vaccinated...their parents did what the government and doctors told them and still got the measles.

My guess is since there was an "epidemic" of measles, the doctors were able to see a real case of measles and were able to correctly diagnose the cases...I am also going to guess that doctors felt free to diagnose measles on every kid who had a rash and a fever so that "those non-vaxers could be blamed for causing an outbreak!!"

Where is the science in all of this? It is too political...!
