I didn't see one??

First time posting here, I think. It's been 6 days since I had my baby... and I can still hardly get around.

Anyone else experiencing this??

Also, anyone else with a second degree tear?

The only things good here are, I have my baby, and I can poop fine

It's hard to take care of a baby when I can barely take care of myself!!

One last thing, I was changing Aiden and his cord stump got stuck on the diaper and is halfway coming off.

Is this okay?

I'm pretty lucky, 7 days post partum and I feel best I have since I got pregnant. I didn't tear, though. I didn't have a 9.5lb baby, either!

The other day I was burping Evelynn and I pulled her up some so i could put more pressure on her belly and her stump dragged across my shirt and bled a little. I was worried but her stump fell off on its own last night and it looks great! Don't worry.

Taking care of a newborn is harder than I ever imagined it could be. It seems to get easier the more we get to know each other, though.

picture time!

enjoying the sunshine

she's been wearing the same two shirts all week because they're the only ones we have with mittens, I'm tired of washing them so now's the time to file her nails! I'm also going to give her her first bath... wish me luck!

I'm seven days postpartum and actually feeling much better than anticipated, but still sore and having a feeling of rectal pressure similar to pre-pushing. I did have a tear, but I have no idea what degree. The doctor cut a small episiotomy after I started tearing, but she just said it wasn't that bad.

A lot of friends were shocked I left the house already as they were still barely off the couch at this point so it seems it's pretty normal to be out for the count still.

As for the stump I think as long as it isn't bleeding/oozing excessively it's probably fine, but it never hurts to call and ask if you are worried.

ds and dd2's cords fell off at 6 and 4 days. His will be fine as long as it not bleeding profusely. It will just further dry out and fall off.

I'm doing ok. My bleeding has all but stopped. If I had more energy I'd do a happy dance. I bled 9 and 7 weeks with my other two births.

Ivy is 3 weeks old today. She is starting to wake more but is still a sleepy girl. She is smiling a bit more now which is really fun!
Her baby acne started a few days ago but its not too bad. Good thing I know how to photoshop!

I'm still pretty tired but I think that comes with the territory of having 3 small kids.

She's outgrown her newborn diapers completely. I'm guessing she's around 10lbs now. Her newborn clothes are history too so she's just been wearing the 0-3 size clothes and they fit really well! It won't be long till we move into 3-6 months.

Tonight I'm going to the bookstore alone with baby. I'm looking forward to a bit of quiet time.

Since everyone else is doing it...sisters

Three weeks and two days postpartum here. Levi is great. I am trying to get him to nurse for longer sessions now.
I've pretty much recovered from the unanticipated c-section, though my incision still has a numb/sore feeling.
I've actually found that adjusting to three is much easier than adjusting to two!

Thankgoodness for that...2-3 easier than 1-2. I feel much better than I did through most of the pregnancy. I know it is hard to believe but I have energy, even without sleep. I have fallen in love with Ben, it has been so easy to love him. I am so relieved that he is fine as this was so much of a stress to me while pregnant. (long story ds1 had cancer, boys tend to have medical issues girls don't in our family.) He is doing great and now we need to get ready for a shower.

I will try to post some pictures soon, I still haven't even posted his birth story.

I haven't even seen my lo's pictures yet...dh is still working on them...
mind you what need to I have I can look at him 24/7

Engorgement was a right old hag last night..>I cried today much better
Its funny I had milk from day one....but only reached peak engorgement on day 9....

My little man is so sweet he's playing with his whoozit toy..no crap...
Which is good as he's only been awake eyes open for like 2-4 hours a day...He's loving the bath putting his feet into the stream of water and out...he gets annoyed when we take him out...memories of the womb I guess.

Physically I am feeling great.
Besides earning the nickname Mrs Rock Hard Stripper Teats from dh...
I said that makes you mister r.h.s.teats...

The baby is looking less like a newborn and more like a baby every day.

To you mama's out there with tears I feel your pain.
I had 4rth degree with my dd thanks to a high forcepts delivery and a episiotomy that temporarily connected my vagina to my anus...creating my vaganus...It honestly took me a month to feel comfortable again...
I wish I'd have taken more pain killers!
I barely walked out of the hospital...I looked so rough the nurses asked me as I was being discharged if I really wanted to go home and I was welcome to stay another day...LOL.

still haven't finalized the name, dh has had the worst head cold...
sigh he has until the end of the month this dude needs health insurance

Evelynn hasn't pooped in 5 days.

She gained a lot of weight when we last saw the pediatrician (yesterday morning), she has like 10 wet diapers a day. She nurses more than 12 times a day and her latch is good.... I'm so worried about her.

I really believe that she's getting enough milk so this makes me even more worried... like she could have a serious medical condition.

I see the midwife tomorrow, I'll see what she says. I have a feeling we're going back to the pediatrician soon.

Oh, Shiloh! I think you just invented my new favorite word!! I laughed for several minutes --- not at your pain of course, but at your creative vocabulary!

I just had to pop in and say i feel your anguish, i am sorry you are worrying. I would worry about it too, so I'm probably not much help. One thing I know about babies, though, is that it's always something. Once the thing you are worrying about clears up, something else starts happening.

I had a C with my first and the numb feeling remained for at least a year.

I am finding 2 to 3 way more difficult than 1 to 2. But my first was an easy and compliant child so that made things easier.

for us, adjusting to 3 is easier than when I needed to adjust to 2. I guess because my oldest daughter is 6 now and she is at school most of the times?!? It makes sense though, Amy's kids are older too, I find my oldest really motherly like - the little one is a different story

Nik, so sorry about your babe not pooping I would be worried too, good luck with that!

eta: I wanted to share this video with you all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=942FRjAJhxU every time I watch it I cry! It's soooooo beautiful!!!!

breastfed babies can go a long time between poops. my dd1 went almost 2 weeks once. i was told because breastmilk is not as thick or hard on their tummys so it takes alot for some babies for them to feel the pressure to really let it out.

i havent been on in a few days, it has been on and off rough. Lydia goes from nothing to completely hysterical in mere seconds, and usually it is in the car on the way to or from school. She pretty much just nurses and cat naps all day. I do get one decent sized nap (more then 10 minutes) in the morning but other then that, I have to carry, or nurse her pretty much all day and it is getting old.

I am angry at dh cuz I asked if he could take her for a bit, she was being fussy but would be ok if he carried her on his arm facing down. after ten minutes he complained his arm was tired and he couldn't do it anymore. I kindly reminded him he could have her attached to his breast constantly and he got mad at me. UGH. Yeah ok whatever. Sorry my little vent for the day.

It is 11:30 and ms lydia is still wide awake, i am not sure when we are ever going to get to sleep.
