ppd and older dc...

can any of you relate to this... in ppd mostly it is said that mamas get overwhelmed and detached etc. from new baby. well that is not my story...with my dd it was her older half-sister when we were w/ their bio father... and now it is strong standing w/ my dd w/ my infant son. it just takes sooo much energy all the way around for me to keep my dd entertained and happy and i feel i've neglected her horribly since i have given birth to my son. this is so hard to overcome and for the past 9 mos. my dd has been struggling over whether i love and care about her or not...i've changed a lot due to this depression and being overwhelmed as a single mom yet again. i don't know how to overcome this. its like i'm apathetic towards my dd. i can't get over it. i don't feel close to her like i did before my son was born...i hate this!!! just to spend time w/ my dd is so draining for me...like playing a game or whatever. i don't know what the problem is except PPD and i can't seem to get past this.

I'm sorry mama. have you thought of seeking counseling for this? It would probably help to talk with someone who won't judge you and can help you through this.
