Clothing is something I usually count as a necessity, but really these things were just pretty. I could have gotten along without them.

But it is going to be a looooong winter in Vermont and I'm going to want nursing tank tops when it comes time to lift up my sweater for the baby.

Sometimes you need pretty.

1: WOULD have been a no spend day . . . until we realized the car seat we had bought didn't fit and I had to go out and spend 31.84 on another one (luckily I had some gift cards).

Yay! Not only no-spend, but I got a $40 check in the mail for a rebate I'd nearly forgotten about, and sold $35 worth of stuff on on the TP. I'll have to pay probably $15 of that in shipping, but still, $20 is $20, you know?

Grocery shopping today, but I think we're set for the week (we *should* be!). Maybe I'll have to spend $10 midweek for fruit? The two purses on ebay weren't necessary, but oh well, what's done is done.

1. No spend, No drive
2. $1140 Rent (1/2 was mine), $311 daycare (both budgeted for)
3. $13 Boston Mkt (cash), $70 gas (both budgeted)
4. $3.80 Wendy's (gc) $16 market for fresh fruit and tofu
5. No spend! Yay! Well, $6 on MUCH NEEDED ice cream. Cash, so ok.
6. 17.99 on two purses from ebay. , 13 Super Fresh, 81 Trader Joe's.

109/400 groceries
70 gas

Money Made:
2. $52 on ebay
3. Return to endless for shoes that fell apart, $31.95
5. Return shirt, $13

B-day party shopping today, quite reasonable...new headlight for our Subaru that seems to eat them...nothing particularly fun (well, b-day stuff will be fun tomorrow, after I actually prep all the food and bake the cakes for our 45 guests - thank goodness we are hosting at an apple orchard, so I do not have to clean too) or frivolous...

Michael was born at 2:14 am on 9/3! Having a new baby and not leaving the house is a great way to have no spend days!!!

9/1 - $71.75 cheesemaking supplies (not really necessary for survival, but replaces high cost store-bought dairy, so counting as extra expense). Stayed home all day and ate at home.

9/2 - Extra groceries $10 (OJ & cottage cheese b/c I was sick). Did eat all meals at home. Limited driving (grocery on way home from school.)

9/3 - NO SPEND, ate at home, and limited driving, too!

9/4 - : Budgeted spending on groceries. Had a meal plan, checked the ads for best prices, hit the Farmer's Market for fresh, unsprayed fruits and veggies! Didn't buy anything off the list and stayed waaay w/n my budget for the week!! All meals/snacks from home, too! Searched gasprices.com for cheapest gas along my route and saved almost $.20/gal.

9/5 - No spend, no eating out, no drive!

9/6 - No spend, no eating out... we ended up meeting at my sister's house for a cookout, so we managed to not spend or eat at a restaurant, while still visiting with my brother!


Meeting my Goals:

2/15 no drive besides to/from school (and strictly along the way stops)

9.2: $54 groceries + plus paid many of our Sept bills online, $11 @ Dollar Store on coloring books/paper for girls... unnecessary since they have some already!
9.3:
9.4: -$3 on shake at gym since I forgot to eat breakfast before a 2 hour workout.
9.5: - $22 groceries (before coupons/store sales:65.68!!!)
9.6: - $97 groceries @ Costco, $54-gas, $20-clothes for girls

How did I miss that? I'm so happy for you!!!!

And yes, my best no-spend ever was in June when Mary was born. I just sat at home and stared happily at my baby. That puts that whole shopping thing in perspective, eh?
