Help! On holiday 9mo with hives all over face (x posted in life with a babe)

Help!

We're on holiday at my parents and my 9mo son keeps breaking out in hives all over his face.

He's just woken up so unhappy and the rash is all over most of his face, with varying degrees of severity - doesn't appear to be anywhere else!

My parents have a dog, which could be the trigger??

What should I do? Do we need to leave? How can I calm down his reaction?

Please help, the doctor here is notoriously terrible, and I don't know what to do!

Is there only one doctor there? Do you have access to Children's Benadryl? If so, give him a dose. How much does he weigh? (that determines dose along with age, but I've never had to give it to a 9mo so I'm not sure on the dose.)

Is he getting any new foods, or are you? If so, then stop them all and see if the hives go away. If they don't, then it could be the dog.

What is he sleeping on? If he's sleeping on a blanket/sheet that was washed in a different detergent, that might do it...
