I'm looking for a car

And it's driving me crazy! My stupid Chrysler minivan is on its last leg (needing a transmission for the second time in 30,000 miles). I'm looking for something small and gas efficient but that will fit 2 car seats (front facing) in the back. I need something reliable and not really ugly (like, nasty interior or crazily fading paint, because I'm a tiny bit picky). I am partial to Hyundai and Honda, and will not even consider a Chrysler/Dodge. Beyond that I'm open minded. My absolute maximum is $4000, which I'm willing to spend if I find some awesome deal. I'd rather spend around $2500. If anybody here hears of/has anything fitting my description please let me know! I'm afraid to drive very far from my house for fear of my van leaving me stranded in the middle of the interstate or something. Last time the transmission died I managed to coast into the dealership; coincidentally I was right there next to it. Oh, and I'll pay cash obviously

It's too bad you need it now; if you could wait about a month and a half I would totally be selling my Saturn. Complete with 'birth is not an illness' bumper sticker. :P

My van is still running, so if I don't find anything by then it's still possible! I was totally going to buy a Saturn and the guy sold it. I keep finding good deals then they get sold literally an hour or less before I see the car. yesterday I drove to Marietta to see a Hyundai. It was there when I called, by the time I got there it was sold. What's your Saturn like? Year and miles and all that jazz. The bumper sticker is a great bonus-

Anyone who has anything that fits the bill please feel free to PM me. I'm very tired of the car hunt!

My hubby works at Universal Hyundai - he is an auto tech there. I can ask him to ask around and see if there is anything fitting that in stock. He is doing used car inspections all the time...

I am a dunce - for some reason I was thinking you were in Central Florida like me.

Sorry mama - hope you find something soon!

Thanks everyone I ended up getting a '98 Camry a couple of nights ago. It has high miles but was really well-maintained. Hopefully it'll hold up!
