2nd Hand Lact Aids and quick intro

Do such things exist? I am in the UK and they do not stock the lact aid over here only the SNS. I would like to try the lact aid but by the time I add on shipping and import tax (we pay tax and duty on anything coming into the uk with a value of over $32) it is just too expensive for me to afford. I have been watching ebay but with no success, is there no 2nd hand market for them because they wear out and become faulty?

Any ideas?

I should also quickly introduce myself. I am Kate, I live in Wales in the UK and am expecting no.5. I have IGT and PCOS that give me a very low milk supply. I fed my last DS to a year with the help of Met, Dom and an SNS with formula and am hopeful that I will be able to match or better that this time around

I've never seen a 2nd hand Lact-Aid but you can make your own if you can find some very narrow gauge plastic tubing. I'm talking 1 mm diameter or so. Just stick one end of the tube in a bottle and position the other alongside your nipple, and latch your baby on. It's tricky, but it can be done.

When you're finished, flush the tubing with very hot water. I'd probably sterilize it by boiling once in a while.

HTH!
