Any recipes? What have you used? I'm broke but amorous

I have read that eggwhites can be used.

coconut oil works for us. A jar will set you back $5-10. Lasts for years (well, I guess that depends on how often it's used...).

Is that the stuff that comes out of the jar solid? I assume you just warm it up in your palms and it melts?

Cool-- we can have a romantic evening then pop some popcorn afterward! :

I will quadruple reccommend the coconut oil too. Found this out from MDC.

Keep in mind this can't be used safely with latex though, you need a water based lube for that.

If the man is circumcised, foreskin restoration can remove the need for lubrication btw. You can find more information out on the case for circumcision boards here on mdc.

coconut oil is awesome. I would not (NOT!) use eggwhites. I think the risk of infection in such a delicate area would be way to high for my comfort.

Not always...

According to TCOYF women who do not have enough cervical fluid to easily get pregnant have used eggwhites (warmed up to room temp) and successfully gotten pregnant. I will try it if we get more serious about TTC. I guess if the idea of eggwhites bothered someone with the same problem then they would have to pay for Bioseed lube (think that's the name).

for the OP, we mostly use spit around here :

vegetable glycerin and a little water will make KY type of lubricant

It liquifies at around room temp. And the popcorn thing is funny. DH giggled like a little kid once when I used some coconut oil to make popcorn. He'd forgotten that it's purpose is food, I guess.

We get the giggles about it sometimes too. Especially because I use it as moisturiser, hair oil, makeup remover, and then we have a separate jar we use for food. Not a bad scent to associate with lovin though... if you can, make sure to get the " virgin" type. Hee hee hee.... I mean it though.

The eggwhites thing was actually suggested to me by my GYN when we were TTC.
I find for general lubrication issues though that lots and lots of foreplay work for us. Especially if I didn't start out in the mood to begin with. Thats as natural as you can get I think! Haha!

Dh and I used to do that until I started get recurring (actually non-stop) yeast infections. We started using an actual lube and the yeast infection cleared up. So, be careful with that.

You can warm it up in your palms. Or you can scoop some out of the jar and warm it up elsewhere, if you get my drift.

I just hit the free after rebate of astroglide at riteaid hehe. Check your local drug stores... those places often have it free after rebate!!!

Of course this is the thread at the top when DH walks behind me. I look at him like a deer caught in the headlights and murmur "coconut oil...". He looks at me like I'm crazy and walks away.

Awkward.

I need to try that, we do the spit thing and it feels so demeaning. I hate it.

We tried it for "non-food" use and I didn't care for the gritty feeling, so I used the rest to fry cabbage. There were many giggles.
