Lets Eat Healthy Together!

So I started this kind of thread in the April DDC but this is feeling more like my home so I'll start it again!

I need to be accountable but I don't have the time to type every-single-thing I eat into Babyfit this time around. So......in the interest of keeping honest (and perhaps stealing new ideas of things to eat) lets post what we are eating!

Sounds like a good idea! (What's Babyfit?)

So, for 8-27...
Breakfast: kashi multigrain puffs with bananas and almonds on top and (skim) milk, oj, grapefruit, one boiled egg (this is our normal breakfast at home for several months now)

am snack: plain yogurt with a sliced peach mixed in

Lunch: beef stew, 2 scoops of ice cream for dessert (I'm not a regular ice cream eater, but I am big on soup...)

pm snack: baby spinach, almonds, pine nuts, sliced tomatoes, oil and vinegar (this is a salad I often make myself)

Dinner: what's that? (dh works late and gets fed well at work, so dinner isn't a regular thing)

dessert: big cookie

I eat when I'm hungry, generally, so hopefully that'll keep working for me...

So, do I need to eat more?

Breakfast: banana
am snack: fruit bar or hardboiled egg
Lunch: cheese sandwich
pm snack 01: fruit bar or hardboiled egg or carrots
Dinner: chicken (2 thighs) or steak (small) and half a cup of green beans or peas and a glass of whole milk
pm snack 02: ice cream
midnight snack: popcorn

I don't always get up before noon, so often the am & pm01 snacks aren't part of my day. I generally try to eat something every three hours.

Babyfit is partners with sparkpeople and you can track your eating. Its a great site! I may take a peek back there again soon.

Stevi, your hunger will be your guide. But sounds like you will have to eat more. Just to make your basic requirements. Babyfit will give you a diet profile that fits your needs. You should check it out! Tracking your food for even just a little while gives you a feel for how much you need to eat.

Drats! I knew it! I hope pregnancy gives me more hunger, because I am really not one who likes food much. Though it will be nice to eat more pasta & potatoes!

By the way, don't get the wrong idea, I'm not skinny anymore. I'm about 30 pounds overweight.

This was yesterdays since I have eaten yet today..

Breakfast -bowl of cheerios with bananas & 1 tsp sugar, a few bites of Dh's eggs with spinich scramble

Snack - handful of peanuts, 1/4 of a large apple

Lunch - Leftover meatloaf with extra sauce on a bun as a sandwich, carrot chips/dip, and 3-4 bites of Annies mac and cheese (dd was eating this)

Snack - celery and PB (more PB than celery lol)

Dinner - skipped, was feeling nauseous

Snack - still nauseous but had 3 Saltines before bed thinking it would help, it didn't

Oh and BTW thanks for the BabyFit link, that is awesome. I will totally use that!

Oh just you wait Stevi! Pregnancy has a way of taking a very moderate eater to levels of devouring an entire large pizza by onesself in a matter of minutes. (my dh will never let me forget that one. He came home and there was none left!)

I'm wondering when thats going to hit for me. Last pregnancy I had that stop-the-car-I-need-a-hamburger attack almost daily!

LOL I actually could eat an entire pizza a few years ago, but that's when that would be my food for the day, nothing else.

I'll be glad to let my body (or offspring) lead me into eating more, as long as it goes away after delivery!!!

Its a healthy attitute to have- not to over eat. I let myself go and it took a long time to get back in shape.

Breakfast: cheerios w/blueberries & 2% milk
am snack: strawberry banana spinach kefir smoothie
Lunch: garden salad w/ chicken and honey mustard dressing a biscuit w/jam
pm snack: triscuits w/cheddar cheese, and 2 Edy's fruit bars (I'm finally feeling nauseas. these helped!)
Dinner: A disgusting Quarter Pounder and some Root Beer
dessert: a peach
