hi moms - i have a problem
my son dylan (almost 12 years old) has not been circumcised. (i have 4 happily uncircumcised boys). his foreskin never retracted. there is a tiny hole just big enough for urine to pass through. he has never had an infection or any obvious problem with it.
many years ago i took him to a urologist in houston with the hope of doing a z-plasty (which i read about on www.circ) to open the top a little. he would not consider it and said we should do a circumsicion "because it is the norm in our community". i did not go back.
i read an article by a new york doctor on one of the internet sites (this one i think) about a steroid cream that is sometimes successful at allowing the skin to stretch. i contacted him by phone and he suggested i get a prescription of the cream and try it. we used it for about 8 to 10 weeks and it did seem to help a little but not enough to stretch it all the way.
here is it many years later. i woke up this morning realizing he is almost 12 and wondering what will happen when he begins to masterbate (and of course, have sex in later years). the concern is that there is no way for the ejaculate to get out. the hole is tiny.
do you know any doctors in houston who are concerned about circumcision? is there a data base of like minded doctors? i hope to find someone knowledge about about this particular problem. i may need to have some type of incision done by someone very conservative.
i would appreciate any help you can give - or you may be able to forward this to someone who can help? thank you for getting the word out and helping countless boys stay intact.
