Hydrogen Peroxide Question

I read on Earth Clinic that hydrogen peroxide is good for colds... I have the 3% from the pharmacy that says it has purified water and stabilizer added.

Can this be put in the ears? Also it says Danger on the bottle. I thought they weren't supposed to write this anymore. So what's the story with this?

Thanks, Ana

Dr Mercola says that several drops in the ear at the first sign of a cold or flu can stave off the illness, he swears by it. I don't really think a few drops is going to have the potential to hurt me as long as I am not applying it to a compromised eardrum. i.e. my hubby has had ear surgery and his eardrum is a rebuilt one, and sometimes experiences irritation and bleeding... so no hydrogen peroxide treatment for him.

I have tried it but not often enough to be able to say how well I think it works. I also do other things that help me stay healthy so it's hard to say what it was that tipped the scale when success comes... the years I was in very regular chiro care with no other changes to my lifestyle, I didn't get the flu, when every single year before I always have gotten it.

Anyway I think it's worth a try. I don't know anything about the reasons behind the warning label other than it sounds much like the warning labels on most everything now, because of the fear of lawsuits...

My husband and I have followed Dr. Mercola's advice on this for a couple of years now. We definitely get far fewer colds, and the ones we have gotten have been very mild. I highly recommend doing this. I do it at least once a week, and daily if I feel something coming on.

You can get food grade H2O2 that does not include the stabalizer. I buy the Publix store brand and it doesn't seem to include the stabalizer - it just lists H2O2 and water as ingredients.

My regular peditrician recommended we do this weekly since my son has a lot of ear wax. It works gret for that, and I would imagine it would likewise help the ear stay clear during a cold.
