Even though my nursing days are long over, I read a letter to the editor in our local paper today that got me all revved up. The gist of it was, nursing in public is fine but cover up because it makes people uncomfortable. So, instead of just ranting to anyone in earshot (my poor family) I wrote a letter to the editor myself! 
: It was easy to do (online) and made me feel like I was actually *doing* something for a cause I believe in. If my reply gets run, I'll try to post it.
BTW: I read a draft of my letter to my 10yo DS after reading him the woman's letter in the paper. He totally started to cracking up and pretended to nurse a baby under his shirt and said, "What baby wants to nurse like that all the time? Jeez, give the kid some air!"

A couple of weeks ago I was out with my two nieces one is 7 the other 11 and we were in the car waiting for my DH and my DS got hungry so I sat in the driver's seat to nurse him and my 7 year old niece (who has seen me NIP many times and many locations) says "Your just going to show your boob here? That's gross" (she was hungry and tired and in a I push your buttons type mood, she normally is very supportive of nursing and was nursed herself as a baby 
) Anyway my 11 yr old niece says "No it isn't, breastfeeding is the best food for a baby and they can nurse any wear they want"
