Occasional day care options in San Diego?

Hi mamas,

I'm pretty new to San Diego and have been trying to get my son registered at the drop in child care center on Miramar, but due to us not vaxing they are making it very, very difficult. I doubt I'll be able to get him in there. I need an occasional sitter for my 15 month old son. He doesn't do well without me at first (screams, cries) but I've been told recently (the last lady I left him with for a dr's appointment) that it didn't happen for long -yay!- and then he just sat back, watched everyone, snacked, and played.

Anyway, my dh is deploying again soon, and I need a sitter available for times when I have dr's appointments and such. Do you know of any great mama's who watch children in their homes, or centers that allow drop in care but don't mind the non-vaxing?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Just wondering if you checked with the Family Services center on base? They usually have a list of providers, including in-home providers (many of them right on base) that are certified. There are also several military wife/mom groups on meetup or yahoo. I'd be very surprised if you were unable to find leads there.
