Nederland Mamas??

Thread Starter
I posted this last year after Nedfest because we just fell in love with the place and are considering a move to Nederland in the future. This year we are even more serious about it. We are going to go there again this weekend to check it out without the festival going on.
Does anyone out there live in Nederland and have any thoughts about the place? Is there anything/place we should be checking out while we are visiting this weekend?

Thank you!!

We live about 9 miles outside of Nederland, and after having lived up here for 6 years, and since having 2 kids, we're ready to move down to Boulder (we both work down there.)

It's a fabulous, beautiful place to live, and a wonderful community. We just need to simplify things by moving closer.

You might want to check out this website:

There's also a chamber of commerce website. Lots of fun restaurants, a library, public schools, a couple of preschools, grocery store, co-op, shops, and a wide variety of interesting people.

Oh, you've got to be comfortable driving in the snow!!

I think it's a great little community. I live about 30 mins from there. It's sort of where all the even more crunchy types from Boulder end up. It's got a great music scene. The co-op is great. There's the Good Karma Center with a good yoga/alternative healing community. I second the interesting people. We go to the clinic there for health care and like it. Some of my friends have kids in the schools there that like it. A few other families moved out of there because they didn't like the schools. We chose to live closer to Estes Park because of the better schools and it is closer to rock climbing. (DH grew up close to there and didn't want to live in Ned because there are too many drunks.)
