what names are you coming up with? - Page 2

Since the u/s showed a girl, our name now is Amelia Rylie (Rylie after her big brother Ryland). Her nickname will be Mia. Now, if Mia sprouts a penis in the next u/s, he will be Kyler Matthew Ryland.

Oh names...so hard! Well, this is what we've been thinking lately. It seems to change often.

Girls: Rowen, Fiona (DH has completely vetoed Delilah wh/ I love)

Boys: Leo...James will be the middle name whatever we decide. I'm not sold on Leo at the moment

If we have a girl she will be named Poppy but that's as far as we have gotten. We won't really discuss it until we know the gender.

Boys: So far we like Lincoln and Andrew.

Girls: We're stumped.

I've had names picked out for a while:

Girls: Olivia (my favorite), Molly (Andy's favorite)

Boys: Ezekiel "Zeke" (my favorite), Benjamin, Ian, Seamus (Andy hasn't expressed a strong preference for any of these).

what about Cady after Elizabeth cady Stanton? Just one of the coolest women ever.

I know a little girl named Marley, and it is just such a GREAT name for a girl.

well don't just leave us hanging, titles?

If it is a boy Whitaker William
if it is a girl Jude (most likely) Maybe maybe maybe Cady.
Probably Jude Cady
Jude Meredith....maybe Jude Meredith Cady Smith or Jude Cady Meredith Smith. Oh heck I don't know the middle name.

And I think it's arrogant to name our child after a character in one of my books.
Ha! In a (sort of) similar vein, I'm involved in rabbit rescue and have named a slew of rabbits over the last nine years or so, using many of my cool names. Hey, I don't have to run those past my husband or think of playground teasing with any of these; the decision is simple! We've already recycled one good bunny name for the cat (Tomlinson), but it just seems wrong to give a child a name I've already given to a bunny. These include:

Charlotte
Miriam
Claudia
Rio
Van
Evangeline
Quinn
Finley
Julia
Gloria
Magnus
Lilly
McCartney
Dakota
Milo
Mimi
Maisy
Oliver
Rosalina
Roxy
Samson
Harrison (this one was used for my youngest child's middle name, but he had the name before the rabbit did!)
Asher
Olive

Don't know how I missed this -- but how cool is that? We obviously have a similar taste in names.

Well, I think that we are having a girl. It's just a feeling and I know I could be wrong. But if it is a girl, my husband has exclusive naming rights. I bargained my rights away to our first girl to get our 2nd son's name.

If it's a boy. I have no clue. We have 3 sons, and I have already used all my favorite names! I am out of ideas!

We added Eliot to the list last night!

So, you're a Buffy fan?

Actually I was lol and funny enough dh didn't notice the origins.

Nighten I love the name Guinevere too but dh doesn't obviously we have similar tastes in the name area.

Dh and I both really like Sarah if we have a girl. We have no clue yet on a girl's middle name or any names for a boy.
We both have a strong feeling that this baby is a boy, if so, then his name will most likely be Landon.

For a girl...I have no idea. I like Abigail but I know a child with that name and I'm not sure I can get past that. I also like Zoe but DH's response is "That's a TV show"

I just saw the name Marley in a previous post and mentioned it to DH and he all for it! Thanks for the idea!

just in case anyone hadn't thought of it, Feb's flower and stone is Violet and Amethyst.

Iris and Dennis are our top choices of the moment
post #37 of 164
Thanks Thursday girl...Violet was actually my grandmothers name. Hmm...something to think about. I think the name is really cute but she and my dad didn't have the greatest relationship. It might be kinda weird.
We are liking Silas Grant for a boy (my dad is Grant). Or maybe Ean (great-grandmother's maiden name).

For a girl I like Isabel and Emily, but they are so popular! I can't talk dh into Carys. He likes Stephanie, but it's too '80s to me.

Let starling&diesel keep her anonymity if she wants to.

I am loving everybody's name choices! It's great to be sharing ideas back and forth.

"just in case anyone hadn't thought of it, Feb's flower and stone is Violet and Amethyst"

I didn't realize that...that's a good thing then for us, since we've chosen Violet as our girl name, and her due date is mid February. It's my favorite flower

I liked Iris as well, but dh can't get past some "awful" Goo Goo dolls song which I don't know. I also like Zinnia, but with our last name it was just awful...can you tell I like flowers?

We have also named our pets great names...so it wouldn't be very nice to name our child after our dogs or cats (Finn, Elie, Rose, Daisy, Jack)...
