Any Tucson moms considering running the December half-marathon?

I've never ran further than a 10K, and I'm not in great shape right now, having just had a baby 6 weeks ago. Right now I run two miles at a time at least 3 times a week for the past 5 weeks (I had a really easy birth and recovery).

I'm wondering if anyone would like to start running with me. I should mention that I am really slow, I never time myself, but I'm pretty sure I'm really slow. I would love to find someone or a few people that would like to meet up at least once a week for a relaxed run together, and possibly work towards training for the half-marathon in December, although I'm not too attached to the idea. I always run in the evenings, although I could start doing early morning runs if I had the motivation of meeting someone to do them with. I live at Speedway and I-10 and do my runs along the Santa Cruz river trail (stroller friendly). It would obviously be convenient for me to meet there, but I'd be open to meeting at halfway points with other people, ie. Reid Park, the other river path, whatever.

OK, so I hope I didn't scare anyone off with the half-marathon thing, really it would just be great to have a running partner(s) for the sake of motivation and fun.

Ha, I'm not quite sure that anything can get us back to 'normal!'

Would weekend or weekday mornings be better?

Is Reid Park a good meeting place? Is 6AM too early? I know it is for me...haha

so because my little one is too small to throw in a jogging stroller, and my husband goes to work at 8, I would have to meet at 7am on weekdays. But if we want to do a power-walking thing, then I can bring the babe and meet at 8 or 9 on weekdays. Or I can meet in the evenings around 6 or 6:30 on Tuesdays or Wednesdays to run. Anything fit with you ladies?......or I can do Saturday evening or Sunday morning....sorry to have so many restrictions on my schedule, but I'm sure you both know what that's like!

I hear you on schedule challenges! My husband works early and baby doesn't wake up that early so 7 is a no go for me. Also, evenings are already full so that is out for me too. Sorry.

But... I am always up for a power walk! Let me know. Also, probably you have all your baby gear now, but just in case, I got a jogger travel system from Baby Trend (with infant carrier/carseat/bucket thing) so I was able to jog with my girl at 6 weeks.

power walking sounds fun!

anything to get out of the house these days is fantastic.

everyone could come here & we can rake turns watching the kids while the other runs on the treadmill :
