montauk??

Did I spell it right? Anyway, my family and I are headed to montauk and was wondering if anyone had any hotel/motel or even camping places they knew of? We are trying to make it a real cheep visit. Also, what is the closest airport? Thanks

Brookhaven Calabro airport is the closest I believe.

And Hither Hills is a state park very nearby that offers camping.

You have to have reservations at Hither Hills and they can be hard to get.

Theodore Roosevelt is a Suffolk County park on the beach. We have camped there with a travel trailer. I don't know if tents are allowed. You can get reservations up to a few days ahead of time for most weeks. There should be a county website with info.

The closest airport for commercial airliners is Macarthur in Islip. It is about an hour to 90 mins to Montauk I think.

Ocean Vista in Amagansett. It is right on the beach-well you have to walk over the dune but still right on the beach. It is a short car ride to Montauk from there. Plus they have an indoor pool, so if it is raining the kids can still go swimming.
