vaginal breech in Philly area - a possibility?

My friend is 37 weeks and baby is breech. She is getting another look tomorrow to see how baby's position is since last week, but she is with the Birth Center in Bryn Mawr and they said that they won't be able to care for her anymore if baby is still breech. So she was asking a few of us whether or not we knew of any OB's who would do a vaginal breech delivery at any area hospitals. I remember reading a post on here a while back where someone was looking into the same and I feel like she got a recommendation of a doc in Philly? but I couldn't remember any details...

So, I'd love to pass her some names if anyone has any suggestions...

I already gave her the Ohm's info in case she wants to try to get the baby to turn (they do the webster technique, and its fairly successful, I've heard), but she isn't sure about doing a version or anything yet.

Oh, and her husband is not ok with a homebirth at this point, so it must be an OB, not a hb mw.

Thanks.

I swear by the Webster technique - Henry turned at 38 weeks and Caroline at 35/36 weeks. Maybe check with Dr. Bailey at Lankenau? I hope baby turns for her!

My baby turned at a little over 36 weeks. I was told Dr. Bailey doesn't do vaginal breech births, but I'm not 100% sure. When I was looking, I couldn't find anyone- the closest thing I found was a midwife in Lancaster.

I recommend Dr. Justin Ohm for the Webster technique. And moxibustion if she can do that. I saw Ellen Vincent at Philadelphia Community Acupuncture. I think the combo of those 2 really did the trick.

Good luck! I'm not in the area, but wanted to ask if she had considered asking for a version referral?

Sometimes, like in my case, the moxa, acupuncture and chiropractor just don't work, and a lot of times people don't even consider a version as an option. Not that you want to be poked and prodded, but I'm definitely giving that a shot before being resigned to a c-sec.

i had good luck with inversion (lying upside down on a slanted board), visualization, and singing to babe to tell him to turn... I think EVERYTHING helps. There are good websites, too, with lots of turning/spinning techniques. Good luck to your friend!

My old co-worker delivered twins vaginally and the second was breech and they let her deliver it vaginally. I'm not sure what OB she was with, but this was at Jefferson.
