Good for you! I hated the fact they over charged so badly there! You can go to ANY sitdown place in town and get a meal cheaper then you could eat Wendys!

I'm thinking of taking my receipt and going to have a little chat with the manager today to get my money back. They charged $1.79 for the advertised .99 burgers.

well, be careful cuz I'm pretty sure the ad on TV does have a fine print that states AK and Hawaii are going to be higher prices! I certainly dont agree with an additional 79 cents though!!!

5 chicken nuggets in Anchorage are $1.75!! totally sucks.

Probably a lot healthier, in general, to avoid fast food restaurants. Scary to think about their ingredients sometimes. I cringe whenever I see those super cheap Arby's commercials. Check out Supersize Me--pretty interesting.

I did, however, go to Wendy's a couple times while pg for a Frosty. Advertizing worked...

Oh! And we live out in the Valley, so every once in a while we go out to Silver Gulch for cajun fries (me) and onion rings (him).

We usually sit at the bar to avoid seating issues (they're always so full!) and have about a 60/40 positive/negative service history there. The food, however, is always outstanding.

I had their cheese platter once, and it was well worth the money. (I found out I don't care for goat cheese, though I was assured it was the best cheese on the platter ). DH loves their margerita pizza.

Southern half chiming in WAY late.

So, I don't remember the names of everyplace...

Juneau has a Thai restraunt (the only one that is Thai) and it is great.

Sitka has the Channel Stake house. People rave about that one.

Ketchikan (has the best restraunts of SE, IMO) -- Oceanview - Italian/Mexican and tasty though usually busy with a great atmosphere, Cape Fox - good desserts and lunches with a nice view and kinda higher class, Annabelles -best bang for your buck, Polar Treats -wrap and sandwhich place and everything is good.

We Gwens Lodge down on the Peninsula. Its right before you get to the Russian River I think....
Have not been there since last summer, and since we eat TF now, I am wondering how we will do with it next time.
Regardless, they have awsome food and their service rocks!
You can be getting off the river, and call ahead to let them know what time you will be there, and what you want, and it will be ready for you when you get there.

Funny, I just posted this in a different thread and then I saw this one. Anyways, there is a great site with Alaska restaurant reviews and menus. Savetable.com, its a lot better than my kitchen drawer stuffed full of take-out menus.
