Shedding/diaper question

Would you avoid buying 2nd hand cloth diapers for your unvaxed baby for fear of shedding from a vaxed previous owner?

I would probably not buy the second hand diapers if this is a concern of yours. I just know when you worry about stuff like that it might be best to buy new so you don't worry . I don't think you have to worry if the diapers are washed in hot water before your first use. I think any type of shedding virus would die off anyway after a few days and maybe the hot water is not even something you would need to do. I have always bought second hand clothes and bibs and blankets and not worried. I would be worried about thrush/ yeasty diaper rash. This is common with cloth diaper use and yeast is hard to kill. You need to wash in very high heat and adding vinegar to the rinse helps also. I would buy new but it is also expensive.

Yeah, I would worry about yeast way before vaccine shedding. If you aren't comfortable buying used, but want a discount, you can go for seconds, old versions, or do prefolds. Like fuzzi bunz, bum genius, and thirsties all recently made new diapers, so if you are lucky you might find their old versions online or in a store for cheap as they try to get rid of them to make room for the newest versions. Yesterday I saw fuzzi bunz for $9 without inserts. Wish I had a credit card, those babies would have been mine. A place online called Jillian's Drawers has used that are used for 30 days or less, I believe, at a discounted price because they have a try cloth deal going on. You could always strip them, do the vinegar rinse, or I think (could be wrong, haven't done it) you can use grapfruit seed extract too, which is supposed to kill alot of things, including yeast.
