Question about majority of adults with waning immunity

I have been researching vaccinations for over four years and still I am in awe of the knowledge and experience so many here have. I'm even a little intimidated to ask this question, but I haven't heard it answered. Addressed somewhat, but no answers.

My question:

Why are people so concerned with a small group of unvaccinated children when it seems that the majority of of adults are not up to date on their vaccinations? And what about all the new vaccines that have been introduced in the last 10-20 years? How many adults have had these? Shouldn't there be a lot of concern over the fact that these adults could be a threat to society?

It just seems to me to be a discrepancy when unvaccinated children are the focus of fear in the media and with doctors.

Oh, they're pushing to get adults vaccinated as well.

Children, in general, spread disease more readily than adults do. They're not as careful with hygeine- wiping runny noses with their hands, then touching doorknobs, then putting hands in mouths, etc. Illnesses do seem to spread around classrooms more quickly than they spread around office buildings.

So the thinking is that a child with measles is more likley to spread measles around than an adult with measles. Also, kids *need* several shots to create immunity; adults with "waning immunity" just need one "booster shot" at their next annual checkup and they're good to go. So there's more of a push to get kids vaccinated since they're seen as a larger threat, plus they need to be brought to the dr more frequently to obtain the "recomended number of vaccines."

Dont feel bad posting this...

I have all the same questions... I think that those questions are exactly what are seen by us, exactly Why? Its so obvious, and yet fear brings moms in like fireworks.

I would LOVE to know the entire answer to your questions!

Ruthla I completely understand your view on that, but most adults never had the recommended amount of vaccinations they are pushing on this generation. What we had like 12, and the list of disease intro.to this generation is not a small list. Why are we requiring so many?

Imo, give then time, they'll get around to it. First they have to increase uptake of vaccines in adults before they can vilify those who are choosing not to.
