I'm thinking of sending DD to preschool *next* year, but know that in this area, you have to start this project early, so I've begun pulling my hair out about it now.
We currently live in Brunswick, MD but will likely be moving to Germantown in the next year.
I am in love with a school in Mt. Rainier, MD--Christian Family Montessori. But it's just too far away. So what I want to find is a school just like it, but in Germantown (hah--I know). What I like about this school:
I recognize that I'm probably not going to find all these things anywhere else nearby. But I wonder--is there any preschool near Germantown that has even a couple of these characteristics? Or should I scrap this idea altogether and try to find a homeschool preschool coop or something? (Another project entirely...)

- Earthy/co-oppy, not a climby, status-oriented DC school from what I can tell
- Real Montessori, not glossy DC Montessori lite
- It's Christian for real, not Christian in name but high-pressure, DC status-oriented in practice (like so many area "Christian" schools) and uses Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, an awesome Montessori program
- More reasonably priced than other schools in area and parents can "buy back" a portion of tuition by volunteering
