Hormones in NuvaRing vs. Mirena

Last time I used NuvaRing post partum, while breastfeeding, it was not a good experience. The hormones really messed me up. I'm thinking I'll go with the Paraguard this time and not have to worry at all. But I'm not at all enthused about the heavier flow.
But how do the hormones in Mirena compare to the NuvaRing? Similar or what? I'd love to have the light periods so many people talk about!

the nuva ring has the same hormones as the combined pill, the mirena is progesterone only.

I'm surprised you were given nuva ring while BFing..

as pp says it's progesterone only. It's similar to the mini-pill or depo-provera if you've every tried those.

ok, that's good to know......I did okay on the mini pill before, but that was five years ago.
This is such a big decision! Either way, I have to pay out of pocket, and am really worried about "wasting" money if something doesn't agree with me. I think I'm still leaning toward the Paraguard, just to be on the safe side. The very light periods are certainly attractive though with the Mirena.

I haven't had ANY periods with the Mirena. Seriously.

It's actually a little weird...
