The argument is that uncircumcised males got infected faster than their circumcised friends because the circumcised males required a period of abstinence after circumcision.

Some African communities practice “dry sex,” with some women inserting drying agents in their private parts, thus causing abrasion and fissures. When combined with “dry sex,” circumcision may increase the risk of HIV-infection and a number of sexually transmitted infections through abrasions because dry sex increases friction by inhibiting ‘gliding action.’

Having had soreness from an episiotomy/tearing/scarring make sex painful for months, I can't even imagine how horribly painful "dry" sex is. And I also can't imagine why a man would even like it. :Puke
