Confessions of a very pregnant woman

I don't know if people will be into this or not, but I have a few confessions to make...

1) We (meaning dh) painted the babe's room last week and my crib bedding from our first doesn't match. I'm going to sell it on CL and buy new stuff :

2) I bought an ice cream maker on a whim yesterday at Target and promptly returned it. (The first pregnancy I bought a rotisserie oven and haven't lived it down)

3) All the ripe cherry tomatoes in our garden were picked yesterday mysteriously by someone with a very large belly. When dh asked where they were I said "I don't know. Maybe the birds got 'em."

4) I told dh we needed a new stroller 'cause our's was breaking. He told me it was fine and we would wait 'til it actually broke to get a new one. Well... it broke a few days ago while he was at work and I was getting it down on a ladder from the garage rafters. I somehow "lost control" of it and it smashed on the garage floor.



So fess up... What have you all been up to in secrecy during this pregnancy?

My kids keep asking if we can make cookies and I tell them that it's too hot to use the oven. Truth is I've eaten almost an entire bag of chocolate chips and can't remember to buy more.

HA! Love it. :

And really, your... clumsiness... was completely justifiable. You need a safe stroller for your new little one! Can't be using one that's on it's last legs.

I really wish I had remembered last night that I have chocolate chips in the pantry. I needed a snack, but didn't think we had anything in the house.

I always get two treats when it's time for something yummy. I've said it often enough that now my kids repeat it, "One for mommy and one for the baby." My 3-year-old little girl now can't wait to be pregnant so SHE can get two treats.

And I've definitely used the belly as an excuse to avoid helping with dinner for our extended family dinner every Sunday (about 20 people) and it's even handier when it's time to clean up!

My confession is that I am totally craving sugar this time around...I just want to drink DR. Pepper and eat twix...no joke!

Ok, I confess. I've used heartburn as an excuse (even when it wasn't that bad) for not doing *ahem* for DH, despite being on pelvic rest this weekend and not feeling like DTD for about 3 months. I'm a terrible wife!

I keep asking DH to pick up cake frosting b/c I'm going to make cupcakes. I swear I'm going to make cupcakes. It's not my fault I keep eating the frosting before I get the cupcakes made, right?

I have bought food I've been craving and eaten it before DH gets home so he doesn't know! I have bought food 'for DS' and eaten it myself.


the deepest desire of my heart right now, is to paint my toenails!

I keep forgetting to brush my teeth. :

After resisting the insistent craving my first pregnancy....I caved and bought a jar of cheez whiz this week. and ate it out of the jar....with a spoon....at room temp.

It was revolting and delicious.

I can't believe I resisted this long.

Aaaargh to both of you guys! It drives me bonkers when I go to make brownies, cookies, etc and my ingredients have been eaten. For example, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, and pecans. Dh is guilty of eating all those.

Oh Carrie! Laughing at the heartburn excuse. I admit to using a cold sore that I felt "coming on" as an excuse before. Hehe.

I'm afraid I've ruined my DD's bladder control-- she goes to the bathroom 3 times in 3.35 hours at school each day, b/c she went every time I went this summer.

I want to stay pregnant forever to get out of kitty litter box duty.

I bought ice cream for myself and have been ordering strawberry shakes at every turn, despite having a long history of lactose intolerance (which is not bothering me with the same old symptoms right now.)

I lost my keys last week b/c I was so intent on hiding my ice cream purchase and couldn't find them for a whole day!

I have trouble keeping track of when I last showered.

Ok, this is really really bad....I hope that Gustav lands anywhere but Beaumont TX, becuase if the transmission lines in Beaumont go down (like they did during Rita), we'll have blackouts here at th ehouse. And the thought of no AC and 35+ weeks pregnant makes me want to cry.

I know it is a selfish thought when people are facing devestation.....

Last pregnancy, I was always spilling sugar in my urine at my appointments, leading them to diagnose me with "borderline" gd. (That I"m now skeptical about.)

This pregnancy I've learned how to pass those urine tests. : Just schedule your appointment kind of early, as in after breakfast, "be good" all that day until your appointment. Leave me alone the rest of the time and let me eat what I want.

ok... my turn.. I just made up a box of brownies, then realized that the big sized cake pan was dirty, so instead of washing it, I filled up a small cake pan that was clean and ate the extra brownie batter out of the mixing bowl.

im a HUGE environmentalist. i actually put all the paper towels in the basement UNDER the stairs so that if someone wants some, they have to work really hard to get them. lol! BUT, we have a box of paper products that we take when we are going up north, anything w/ DP's very large family, etc. etc. (they were all free stuff sent by paper co's. argh!).

last week as we celebrated DP's 40th and i ran the dishwasher after dinner, i used 4 paper plates. i felt so horrible about it but damn it, the kitchen was clean, teh dishwasher was running..and i just could NOT dirty 4 more dishes.

I am finding myself telling little white lies to DH alot - harmless things, but I think I'm just covering my own lazy, work from home guilty butt, like:

- I tell DH every day that I did some form of exercise (I've asked him to hold me accountable) and really, I didn't (but isn't carrying groceries into the house and unloading them exercise?! I'm winded afterwards...)

- I often say my heartburn/aches and pains/exhaustion is worse than it is to get out of cooking, cleaning, sex, having to be nice...you name it! The poor guy i so sweet and sympathetic, he does it, AND he gives me a foot massage.

- When he inquires about my day, I forget to mention I spend about 6 hours of it on the internet, much of it researching and learning about cloth diapering instead of working or making the poor hard working man some form of dinner!

Shucks... now I feel guilty.

I've been tracking my own blood sugar (to avoid the GD screen) and have been off sugar and wheat for about a month now. Instead, I've been frying everything in sight to compensate for my chocolate cake cravings. :
