momma cloth

ok ladies i am convinced, this is my last period with disposable pads. the sweating, itching, and being rubbed raw is going to stop.
DH is slightly disgusted by the idea but we use cloth diapers (for DS ) and i told him it will be no worse than that plus he does not have to deal with MY cloth lol. no where is your favorite pace to get momma cloth , or your favorite brand and how many do you recommend?

I just started using cloth last month, so I don't have a ton of advice, but I want to encourage you! It's great! I bought 2 heavy, 2 med, and 2 light pads and can already tell I will need a few more. Mine are VajPads, but she is not currently taking new orders. Have fun shopping!

I've heard really good things about "Party in my pants" and, you gotta love the name...

I'm about to order myself some and try out this cloth pad thing too.

If you head over to Diaper Swappers, there are a lot of WAHMs there that make them. I did a custom order with tmolly, they were FANTASTIC! I got a few Domino Pads, and they are really nice, too. Check out the WAHM wares forums... some have hyena carts, but I can't remember which ones!

My DH said it was gross, going too far, so I did what any mindful mama would do.... I ordered them anyway, used them 1 cycle, brought it up again, and when he mentioned how nasty, told him I'd already done it and he never knew it!

After only using them one cycle, I can tell I them! My period was shorter... less cramping... the theory is that the chemicals in pads pull the blood from your body. Nasty, huh?

If you have any questions, I'll be glad to help!

What I love about using cloth is that it lightened and shortened my cycles! : I used to have 7-8 day cycles with about 5 heavy days. My cycles these days tend to be 2 heavy days followed by a light day or two. (when I'm not lactating - I tend to go 2 years without cycles then)

I like to have around 12 pads on hand and wash about every other day.

You probably already know that you can just wash your pads with the diapers, too.

I just love how soft the flannel pads are. I thought they would be bunchy and uncomfortable but they are WAY more comfortable than disposable pads.

I got mine from Joyful Living Naturals - there was a co-op here:
http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=920347 but the prices on her website are not much more than they were in the co-op.

She was awesome to deal with and she's also a user on MDC.

I am pregnant and have been spotting for weeks now and I'm on bedrest. Paper pads were really irritating a rash down there so dh went all the way out to Berkeley, with dd, to get mama cloth. What a guy!
He got me Gladrags and I LOVE them. They have really helped the rash so I say go for it.
