making SCA/Viking/Middle Ages garb for children?

Heyla! Hopefully I'm in the right place...

I need to make SCA appropriate garb for my girls (3yo and 1yo). The events we'll be attending will be chilly/wet but not freezing and our family persona is very early Irish... basically Viking incursion era so Norse style is ok.

I haven't made garb in years (we haven't been to an event since having kiddos) and just don't know where to start. I threw something together out of crap linen for a wedding we attended with dd1 but it wouldn't hold up to a "real" event. The next event isn't until mid-Oct so I have some time (but no money). Most of the garb resources I've found focus on adult clothing and just sort of say "throw the small people into t tunics" but I'm hoping to do a bit better than that.

And for reference, this is the site http://www.hatrack.net/gwen/celtic/clothing/main.html I generally used for my own garb/dh's garb. I can scale things down for kiddos but I'd love something with more documentation.

You have a boy and girl, yes?
I think they did mainly wear loose tunics.
My google-fu isn't turning up much else, but I'm interested to see what others know!

Two girls but at their ages it's pretty generic.

I've found some nice sites, and will be experimenting with some of the viking finds but hope that someone posts with a "this worked well" experience!
