Need some help!

My son was in the NICU for 2 1/2 weeks after a failed homebirth attempt and a careless midwife. He couldnt eat because he was intubated for almost 2 of them, and kinda lost the suck, swallow, breathe thing. FInally he started eating, he understands it, and is gaining weight.

However, his latch is horrible. On my right side, it has been fine, but my left, its been bad since the hospital. Now my right side is sore today, assuming latch issues.

Anyone know what I can do to help this? I fight through the pain, but I am assuming if latch isnt right, he isnt getting enough? Is he getting enough and is my supply going to be kept up if he isnt latched rigth? What can I do?

It's hard to diagnose latch issues without seeing you feed. But if he is feeding well from the right side you might try keeping him in the same position when you feed from the left. So instead of lifting off, turning and swapping to the alternate side, have you tried just sliding him across? he might have better tone on one side and this might help.
