Postpartum Baby Weight Loss Goals

Thread Starter
So...I am looking at loosing weight....I have lost a lot since I got pregnant...was 250 when we were doing infertility, 233 the last time I weighed before baby arrived, and weighed in a few days ago at 217. My goal is to loose about 50ish more pounds.

With the insulin resistance I have and my increased blood sugras I have to do something to live for my kiddos. My goal is a 50 pound weight loss by February 12th (my wedding anniversary). I plan on doing it slow as to not ruin my milk supply hopefully.

First I have addictions to break...I kinda went hog wild after Kasey came and dove head first into all the foods I could not eat while I was pregnant (candy, snacks, cakes, brownies, pizza, CARBS...especially a renewed addiction to gummy worms

Who else will be planning a new postpartum you???

I plan on losing 15 lbs (baby weight), plus maybe another 10 (to get where I like to be, around 130). My plan is pretty simple: eat well (which I do for the most part-I just try to resist buying junk. We don't eat any refined carbs, we're vegetarian, fat/sugar conscious, etc., but if it's a b-day/holiday, I don't sweat it) and exercise. Iwant to get back into running by 6 weeks PP. For now, I'm just walking/doing yoga/weights. I also want to make sleep a priority (I know poor sleep can interfere with weight loss).
I don't want to interfere with my supply either. I couldn't lose the last 10 with DD til I stopped BFing. It was hard for me to put my vanity aside, but I know BFing was more important. I just hate it when my mental image of myself doesn't match up with the reality ;(
Anyone else?

I only want to fit in my old jeans. everything else is gravy!

At this point I would like to be able to wear my clothes! I'm so sick of my ONE pair of non-maternity shorts that fit. I don't know what I'm going to do when the weather gets cooler. I did manage to squeeze into a jean skirt this morning so there may be hope!

I plan to lose 35 lbs. and I'd love to do it within 6 mths as well. I know a lot will come off just by bfing. Once my 4yo starts school (will start full-time in a week) I plan to walk daily. Dh joined a gym that opens in Oct. and I'm thinking of doing that as well. I'm not much for the work out machines, but I love yoga and pilates. I noticed a huge difference in my body after ds#2 when I was doing pilates a couple of times a week at the Y. As far as eating it's pretty much out of control still. I'm trying to make sure I get fruits and vegetable, but I'm not restricting sweets/fats at all (I don't eat many fried foods as it is, though).

Fridgeart, I was the same with the 10 lbs with my first, but not with my second. You may not have to worry this time. It didn't interfere with my bm at all either. #2 bf longer than #1.

Alicia, you can satisfy your carbs by switching to whole wheat!

I want to loose 30 lbs.! I can't wait to start running again!!!! :

I have lots more to lose, but have been fighting baby weight for over 13 years now. I need to lose about 10-15 to fit into my regular jeans, right now I am still wearing maternity jeans, ugh. I want to lose a total of 75 pounds and hope to do it within the next year. Would really like to get at least 20 off by the end of October when I go back to work.

I am watching what I am eating, whole grains, less fat and sugar, more veggies, more water. I didn't have a sweet tooth during pregnancy, but it came on full force after baby was born, so I need to get rid of that.

I am hoping to go back to the gym this week, I have been pumping once a day to make sure dh has some bm to give in a bottle, but am hoping to plan to go during one of her big naps. I dont quite trust putting her in the daycare just yet. They are great, but she is just to little and they would not be able to hold her, plus there are two many toddlers with possible germs.

I had another idea for a forum at the new ddc boards! Weight Loss!

I am too 10 lbs. away from my prepreggo weight but I do want to lose another 20, so that's a total of 30 lbs.

Me too, Me too!

I want to loose weight too. In fact I was going to try to loose the extra weight beforee I got pregnant and realized how stupid that was since I would just put it back on anyways... I never really did drop my extra weight after ds and gained an extra 15-20 and have been trying to loose it for the past 5years now. So this time I am more determined to get back my prekid weight of 150, I've got a ways to go though because I am still 217 (last time I checked, 4 days ago). I have a gigantic sweet tooth, always have and have no idea how to keep that under control. I also have trouble keeping on track, I'm add and maybe that's why but I will start working out and skip one day because of whatever reason and then just stop. I'm trying to start going for two walks each day, one in the morning after breakfast and one in the evening... do you think that will help with dropping some weight if they are each 30 min. walks?

Nevermind, I just weighed myself and apparently I've dropped 20 pounds in the past week and a half... weird cause I dont look like I've lost that weight at all... at least I dont think i look like it. hmmm Anyways so now I can change it from 70 something pounds to lose to 50. I am now at my pre-pregnancy weight and working on my prekiddo weight!!! Who hoo!:

I will never get to my prekiddo weight even if I want to seriously, I was way too thin back then and there is no way I could lose it all. I could look healthy and trim but I know that I will never be 114 lbs. again... Probably 125 lbs if I starve

Not off to a good start-in fact, I think this is the worst I've eaten in months! Yikes-but as my DH says, it's the last day of holidays (he starts his Master's tomorrow, and MIL goes home), so it's the last treat day, lol.

I'm kicking butt doing weight watchers.

So apparently all my pregnancy weight is gone (doesn't look like it to me) but i want to lose about 15 pounds. I'mjust at 155 but I would love to be about 136=140. Fingers crossed that I can do it.

I plan to walk everyday, do light weights and tons of crunches. I want to start running in the fall but I'll have to figure something out with me having Kendall by myself. Maybe working out during lunch.

I just going to stick with the no white diet, daily walking and light weights, ocassinal cardio or yoga. That's it.

I was 125 to start, gained 40 and lost all but 15. It shows too. I keep getting compliments that I don't look like I even had a baby But if I showed them my stomach, they'd say otherwise

I bought a girdle and I didn't even have to wear it today because I almost have NO stomach whatsoever.

I bought jeans today, size 7's and I normally wear fives. My legs and butt got bigger, I hope that goes away :< Yay for NON maternity wear!!

I'm going back to my active lifestyle-as of today and it feels amazing!

I am not going to hardcore diet..weight watchers will take breastfeeding moms? I will come up with a meal plan just for me...sigh...
something easy as I often forget to eat during the day and make up for it after dinner..

and stop avoiding the gym the baby is now over 2 weeks, I have stopped bleeding for the most part....but weather is still nice so maybe after kidlets get to first day of school baby and I will go walking....

I gained about 30 pounds with my pregnancy and lost half of it at three weeks postpartum. Normally I'm 5'3" and a size 0 or 2 depending on where I shopped, now I'm fitting in size 6. My belly is a little flabby but most of the weight is sitting on my hips and butt. It's pretty frustrating to get my pre-pregnancy pants up to knees before they stop. Boo.

I'm a little torn on how much I want to lose. My mom (who is built exactly like I am) is at my pre-pregnancy weight and I think she looks way too thin. My dad always thought I looked "emaciated" at my pre-pregnancy weight and I constantly was told to put on weight by friends and family. After looking at my mom I'm thinking that maybe I was too thin and I don't need to lose all the baby weight.

I'm going to the gym on a regular basis, 40 minutes on the bike (I don't run unless I'm being chased!) and an hour of weight lifting. I put on muscle pretty easily so we'll see how it works. I eat well, it can improve and I know I need to work on it.

alicia9178, we are in exactly the same boat. My prepregnancy weight was around 230. I went down to 217 in my first few pregnancy months and then ended the preg at 246. Now, at three weeks postpartum I am at 222. I can't wait to get into shape. My goal is 165.
