I guess my 300 easy peasy challenge hasn't been as easy as I thought!

I'm at 29/300. I kind of stalled. I do that a lot. I get focused on one thing, then lose focus, and do something different. Lather, rinse, repeat. I hate it! Working on it, though.

I got rid of about 20 plastic toys before the weekend. I was able to give my baby a bunch of new wooden toys in replacement. Some day i will have all the plastic out of this house.

I am at 20/100 for the month. I am excited to get more out of here.

I came to this thread for inspiration because I want to tackle our office/craft/gift-wrapping/ironing/catch-all room.

Do any of you have a room in your house that you avoid because being in there gives you bad feelings? That's this room for me. All our financial stuff is in there and in the past some stressful moments have been spent in that room. It's full of stuff that I know I should do something with, but I never do. It's also the room that will be a nursery if we ever decide to have a baby, and I don't know if that's ever going to happen.

So...Saturday, DH will probably be out of my hair, and I'll just buckle down and face it. Who knows...once I'm done I may not get queasy walking in that room. In fact, this thread is making me think about other rooms of the house I should tackle.

But, for now...office and moving some empty boxes to the attic is my project for the weekend. I'll let you all know how it goes. I hate that I'm at work right now...wish I could be at home and starting already!

Oh, man, I've stalled.

I find I can't maintain good mothering AND homeschooling AND housekeeping. Something's gotta give. Usually it's housekeeping. Maybe I can be a decluttering demon this weekend?

AM i am having the same problem, minus the homeschooling but with sports, homework and dd that needs all my attention I only have about 2 hours when she naps to do anything. I think for me the majority of this is going to have to been on weekends when dh can take all the kids.

I've gone through all the paperwork laying around and shredded, filed, or tossed most of it. I have a little bit left tonight to finish up. Don't know how many items that I got rid of, but there was a huge pile that I shredded. It's nice to not have it take up space in a big pile!

Not much time to work on de-cluttering during the week, but I gave it a little of my time last night after work. Decided to part with a chipped depression glass casserole dish (had kept it because it was my great grandmother's), some tins, and a decorative bowl. I also winnowed through the pile of junk mail on the counter (but I'm not including that in my total, since that's a never ending project).

New running total = 54/100

I need help getting rid of the canister set that was a wedding gift. I don't use them any more because the don't match my kitchen and one of them is broken (only have 3 out of 4 left). I keep telling myself that my friends gave them to me and that they might be useful...give me boost to get them out of the house, please!

It's the 11th already, but I'm in! I've got to do something about this house. I'm feeling overwhelmed. Plus my goal is to switch the boys room with the (junk filled) computer room so they'll have more space & hopefully start sleeping in there too.

You have plenty of time left and I noticed when I am decluttering my house, it seems to get cleaner. Maybe after I get rid of stuff, I realize the dust etc so I start wiping things off and then I vacumn it up....

or maybe I can now see the area and make it cleaner so the housekeeping seems to happen.

Next to tackle is our closets. DH has two suits that need to go. He only wears suits to a wedding or funeral and its time to buy another suit anyhow. He volunteered them. I will have him go thru his drawers as well.

I went thru dd1's clothes and put in the big size 6 tub for Maggie down the road. BUT its overflowing, so I need to thin out stuff. Our church is having a clothing drive the next few weekends so we will have a few bags of stuff for them.

Ok, today I found 7 more things to donate to a shelter. Those items are just getting put into bags and I will have to figure out where to take them. They aren't technically out of the house yet.

I found 2 more garage sale items and I am going to work on that more tomorrow.

I also sorted some clothes and put some into a "next year" tub for DD. Just a bunch of clothes that will hopefully fit next summer. Not out of the house either, but more organized so that is something.

Went a little crazy today, and decided I can't handle all the toys. Put about 75% of them away for a later day. I'm thinking I'll alternate them, that way they actually might play with them, instead of just tossing them all around the house.

Tackled the hall closet. Put 4 sweatshirts out for my husband to decide what he wants to do with. Threw 4 gross purses away. Tossed a bunch of other random things out. A few things added to the Goodwill pile. I'm at 51/300 now.

Got ride of an annoying, noisy toy train and ds' old rain boots last night. Both going to be donated.

I have a desk, a pile of bins, some kids shoes, a bowl and some other small misc things just sitting on my porch, waiting for a ride to the care and share.
Tomorrow, they will be out of here.

Today I'm going to tackle the kids' toys that we put in the 'not played with anymore' pile. The ones that are still in good condition are going to the special needs preschool.

If I have time after that, I've been wanting to cull out my wrapping paper, ribbons, boxes, etc. and get that re-organized. I have a system for it, but it has begun to overflow. I don't need to keep so much.
