What should I do? (spotting)

I'm 6 weeks today and I have noticed some spotting. Just a bit in my undies (light brown) over the last week. Nothing on the TP. Now its very light pink, on the TP not in the undies.

I have initially emailed my homebirth midwife to schedule our consultation (never met her before) but have been hesitating. I wanted to wait a bit longer. Anyway, I do have a CNM that I have seen once for a pap and I'm wondering if I should call on Tues and schedule an initial appt with her to do bloodwork just to put my mind at ease? I have a hard time hiding my joy about (hopefully) having a homebirth and it would be hard for me to see the CNM once and then not again. (All the local hospitals have a no VBAC policy)

I think that the HB midwives do bloodwork at the first appt too but it may be quicker to go to the OB office. If you were in my shoes what would you do?

Personally, I'd just wait it out as there's not much to do to stop the bleeding if it starts to get heavy, ya know?

But if you want blood work, go for it. The quickest way to get it done I would think is by going through your CNM. I just wouldn't mention the homebirth part.

I have also been having light brown spotting for several days now. At first I thought it was the start of AF, but now I think it might be implantation bleeding. Last night, the spotting was bright red, but only on TP -- and I got really worried. Today I got just a little light brown spotting again. I'm trying not to worry. I found several threads on this forum with stories of bleeding and spotting during otherwise healthy and normal pregnancies. And reading a bunch of those stories helped. But I am going to try and get an appointment with a midwife this week just in case the spotting is related to low progesterone (since that is something I could do something about). Also, I'm doing a lot of praying and asking the little one to burrow in and stay put. I hope this spotting goes away soon for both of us.

I'm spotting today too. I don't think there is too much at this point you can do. I figured I probably couldn't even see anything on an u/s at this point. Sometimes but then if I don't there will be so much more worry. So I am just gonna hang out till either the bleeding picks up or hopefully stops.

I'm glad I saw this thread... I was about to ask a similar question--I had a bit of spotting tonight, a little teeny bit red, but mostly brown, and not heavy. Not sure. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, since it seems to have stopped. One of my friends was telling me recently about how she thought she had her period when she was actually almost a month pregnant with her now 20-month-old, so I know I shouldn't worry just yet. (Knowing and actually not worrying are two different things--it was a bit of a shock tonight since this was pretty much the only spotting I've had)

But, yeah, I'm feeling better now, so I'm hoping, well, that there's nothing interesting going on, except the parts that I want to be interesting, y'know? We'll see.

spotting sure is stressful!! Mine has died down a lot. I think I still want to make that appointment and ultrasound. Just for peace of mind.

Its funny how each prenancy is different. My sons pregnancy was smooth sailing the whole way. I was so lucky to have hardly any nausea, no spotting, and just felt and looked glorious!
