Good morning ladies. I'll start by saying that I'm so far behind because of work that I doubt I'll be catching up on what I've missed and I'll be touch and go for the next few weeks. But wanted to pop in and .

That last I've heard on my cousin (motorcycle accident) is that he's in a coma, but breathing on his own. Not sure if there is brain function yet or not. They did have to do brain surgery to remove a clot the size of an egg. They are waiting to see if he'll come out of the coma.

We are doing good. Both DW and my work's are getting busy and we're prepping for a vacation to Disney in 2 weeks. Perfect timing, eh?

Much love, healing, support, and encouragement to those who need it. : &

Ds is still coughing but is walking around and playing.
Doesn't seem to have a fever. He slept very well last night (although I woke up a few times).

my DS is 13 now. he has always been interested in wicca but i didnt want to talk to him about some of the more involved stuff. how would you start. i already showed him the tarot cards. he likes them. he used to watch all the time when he was little. i want to give him the deck i have had for 10 years. i got a new deck (It was calling to me) about 2 years ago. the older deck seems to want him and doesnt feel "right" to me any more.

wouldnt know anyone else to ask. i only have 1 irl friend who is wicca/pagan.

i keep bringing this show up! it's so amazing how there are such comparisons. just yesterday, i was comparing mc to that "crime, gee, boy, i dunno" guy.... anyhow. didja know that one of the writers on WW actually worked on obama's campaign in IL? : explains a lot, they actually based santos on obama.

hugs you! if you're up to it, you might really enjoy going back thru our summer camp threads... there was so much there about making one's home a sacred place... i'm thinking that might help you!:

ditto that. also, little trick--teething gel helps soothe bitten nipples......

I wonder if mercury retrograde beads would help?
merc retrograde beads, i lurve it. you'd have to somehow string them backwards, though..... :

i'm thinking everything will go better for everyone once i'm 34. maybe i'll throw an online fete.

We got all moved, now I'm swimming in a sea of boxes.Everything went well, and I won't need to worry about going to the gym for a few days, lol.

I read a bit to catch up, hugs and healing for those in need, I saved Tracy's article to read later, and thanks for the laugh about stringing mercury beads backwards, that's too funny.

Mostly I just used it for Japanese lessons on the bus to and from work when I was taking classes; it doesn't see much use at home.
Japanese lessons on iPod... : If I had an iPod, I'd use it all the time, no doubt. Mostly for music and random NPR shows, I'm sure.

I'm going to introduce Bean to that adorable website I found last night, and see if I can find some more. I'm going to count it with his History & Language Arts time. Speaking of history, we've gotten to The Trojan War. Fun fun. : Bean loves it. I love it, because we can drag this stuff out forever.

Hehe costumes rawk! My 4.5yo lives in them (he has about 8 that he rotates) Last year he literally wore a cape (well.. a receiving blankie tied into a cape hehe) for 6+ months.. every.single.day! This was during our school days and the other mums used to just love it and waited to see what cape he would be wearing each morning :

LOL Thank Goddess it's the end of the month! I'll pop up the October thread tonight probably, when it ticks over to 1Oct here :

I guess it depends on how formal you are as to what you mean by more involved stuff?? I'm a pretty lazy pagan, there isn't much more involved stuff for me than observing the cycles of nature by way of simple sabbats and simple informal full moon 'rituals' .. if you can even call them that My 6yo is learning a little about runes, only because a show he watches called Avatar has a type of runes in it and I took that opportunity to show him 'real' runes. He can spell his name in futhark runes lol. Obviously at 13 he'll be ready for more, and I have no idea how I'll handle that.. there's gotta be some decent books out there? I know there's 'raising witches' (and the obvious teen witch .. but it's gotten a bad rap and I have not read it, and thus am not exactly recommending it )

TY for the heads up
And I had been making comments on the parallels between Santos and Obama but because we are down under and all American tv we get is usually 2+seasons behind the US, It NEVER occurred to me that there was a direct connection!!! It is so cool that the writers worked on his campaign.. and I read the fictional chat between Pres Bartlett and Obama and it was : I am so voting for Obama because he's the closest to Jed Bartlett in the white house I'll ever see lol.

: Moving sucks! Glad you are at least IN though.. the finding homes for your things is the fun part (to me at least.. but then I'm weird lol)

I have to share.. my 2yo (birthday is in early june) hasn't got much in the way of language yet, but he's starting to pick up a bit. Just a word here and there really, and not always understandable to anyone else hehe.. he says 'conn' for connor and the usual ball and water, he said rainbow (sorta) the other day even. You get the idea... well this morning he came up to me on the couch and said 'helloow mummy mornin' It was so meltworthy!!!!

Little stinker will NOT say love you though lol

You people who do all these extensive quotes are making the rest of us look bad.
(honestly, I'm impressed)

If anyone's got a bit of energy on their hands... BooBah is sick. She's running a fever with some kind of stomach bug. Ordinarily not a big deal, but she's having problems with continence and that's a bad sign (she's got some minor kidney issues). I'm going to take her in tomorrow for a look and to have her blood drawn to make sure that her kidney function is all right.

I also sent a boatload of papers to BeanBean's teacher today. We need her to look them over, understand and recognize everything, and act appropriately. : I really want this school situation to work out for us (Bean is a cyberschool student), so this has to go well. It's relatively minor drama in the scheme of things, but I still need to direct positive energy at it. Trouble is... I have a headache and really feel generally unhappy today. I'm trying to get things done and think positively, but I feel so pathetic and drained. : Meh.

Anyway... : I need to find some candles for Rosh Hashannah anyway... I appear to be entirely candle-free.
