So Aaron kind of sort of started to propose to me last night. We're moving towards buying a house together, and we were filling out the joint applications. I made some crack about how we were entering into a legally binding agreement, and he looked at me for a second and said, "We should get legally bonded." Like sort of half joking, but sweet.
I cut him off and told him that if he wanted to ask me to get legally bonded it had better be in a damn creative way, then suggested he rent a hot air balloon or write it in the sky or something.
I probably would have taken the proposal at face value last night and be here announcing that we're engaged, but there's one thing he needs to clear up before we talk about marriage (he's having trouble getting off some really addictive ADD medication he was prescribed, and he's making awesome progress, but he needs to be totally in control of it before I commit to marriage.) I think he kinds of understand that, because he's talking to the doctor today.
It's crazy, I remember my first posts on MDC last April when I got pregnant. I pretty much started out in the single parenting forum because that's what I thought I would be, and I was fine with that. But then Aaron turned out to be such a good man. Life's nice sometimes.
And now back to our regularly scheduled thread about babies.

So perhaps I spoke too soon. I just noticed that his top left tooth has actually broken the skin and the right looks like it might any day now. Poor thing, no teeth and all of a sudden 3 come in at once. Might explain why he's been such a mess lately lol.

Lately he just wants to nurse when I come home from work to reconnect, maybe once before bed and once in the night and that's it... ever other time he'll turn away from the boob and make "eh eh eh" noises toward the kitchen until we put him in his high chair for food. I was really looking forward to nursing into his toddler years, but at this rate I don't see us making it that long at all.
Ari is actually the opposite, she's been nursing tons. She has 5 teeth now and will take 1-2 steps at a time! We may make an offer on a house this weekend. I hope the computer gets fixed or the money fairy hits soon, I miss you all.

Mine has two bottom teeth, one top, and is working on three.

She wakes up crying *literally* every twenty minutes. My day time is a nightmare - I don't ever remember my five year old teething like this...

Ayiyiyi.

Congratulations, that's pretty exciting.

Ash is just cut tooth number 5 which I'm guessing means 6 is also on it's way because that's how he rolls. He's ALL over the place, crawling like crazy and pulling himself up on everything. We went to a baby story hour at the library and all he wanted to do was chase the toddlers around the room. Egads, I'm exhausted,

Let's see if this picture thing works

Tooth five has broken through the gums, and 6 is almost there. I hope it gets through before this weekend. We are going on a mini-vacation with my in-laws and it will really suck if ds is a crank case the whole time.

Oh, and I guess he is sick too. I thought his fever was from teething, but it got up to 102 and 103 today, and apparently, teething doesnt make it go that high. That is what people tell me anyway. He has been a little snotty the last couple days, waking non-stop, VERY clingy. Poor little pumpkin. Teething and sick? What a mess.

Yes- we are in the same boat

He is not a happy camper. We are waiting on results from the paed today to see if it's rotavirus.

Wow, I don't read for a few days, and y'all are off getting married and almost proposed to and pregnant! : Congratulations everyone! And our babies are walking and growing teeth and dating! Sorry I missed the meet up in Boston. I was actually supposed to be there that same weekend.

Iris' first tooth just poked through two days ago! My babe's precious toothless grin is gone! I have to get to know her face all over again.

I am loving all of these pictures! And they do look like such...toddlers! Heather, Dante has quite the arm on him! And I love the accompanying grunt! That laughing video was adorable, too. Iris loves looking at all of the babies!

We've been really busy here, but all is good. Iris is so much fun right now! She is amazing! We've gotten into somewhat of a rhythm, and I'm getting more used to working when she sleeps. The cooperative preschool that I've formed with my parenting group starts in a couple of weeks, so she'll get to see her friends three days a week! I'll try to get some pictures of my girl up soon!

wait, who's pregnant? aaah! i feel so behind! how am i so behind on this thread already? i had such high hopes...

everything is the same over here really. maya is doing fine, still has the same old 2 teeth, blah blah blah. i've been feeling REALLY under the weather lately, and i'm hoping that'll go away soon! fall blues? eh, i doubt it, i love fall! 13 days till my birthday! it's an exciting time! now if i could just stay awake longer than 10 minutes, that would be great.

ummmmmm i had other stuff to say, but since all i can think of is "SHE'S MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL! (she used to be mine!)!" i can't actually remember anything else.

ooh my parents just arrived for a weekend visit, so i must go! what a stilted senseless post. i : you all and hope you're all well.

We love you, too, shebear! As a matter of fact, I've been missing being in a ddc with you. Your posts are always so fun and encouraging! Are you SURE you're not pregnant and due in April?

I also feel so behind!! Jen congratulations-almost. I hope he deals with the med thing so that he can officially propose soon.

Mrs Bass-congratulations on being pregnant!!! That's wonderful? And Elsaraw-let us know!!!!

Reyes has 5 teeth now. He's had no signs of teething since. I'm hoping he's taking a break and that number 6 will come in a bit later. I'm worried about how they are coming in as the ones on top are coming in on the front of his gums not the bottoms like the 2 bottom teeth did. I wish I could hold his mouth to the camera long enough to take a picture. I've never seen baby teeth come in so I'm wondering if this is how it's supposed to be-or if I should start saving up for braces.

He's obsessed with pulling himself up and is starting to cruise.

I'm debating with myself about changing docs for him. On one hand she totally supports delayed vaxing-and we have a really slow schedule for him. On the other hand she keeps insisting that we get rid of the cats-even though I keep telling her that he cannot possibly be allergic to them. I almost want to start keeping a diary of when he has trouble breathing-it's always when it's really rainy and humid out. I'm just really scared of getting a doc that will think I am crazy for delaying vaxing-or that will tell me I am a horrible mother for co-sleeping. But I know I can just keep changing docs until I find one that I like. I'm giving this doc one more chance on Thursday for his 9 month appt. She is so highly recommended by the AP folks in my area-so I am really trying to make this work. I also really don't want to keep changing docs as I think it's important to have someone get to know Reyes-especially 'cause with his asthma I have to visit the doc often.

Karen--just real quick (I'm s'posed to be sorting boxes) but that is TOTALLY NORMAL for the top teeth to look like they are coming in front of the gums. That really freaked me out with my first child, too, but it is supposed to look that way (especially the top center ones; the side ones will come in a bit more like the bottom).

Just wanted to post that real quick so you can stop worrying! basically, on the top teeth, more of the tooth is exposed....if you look at your own teeth, you'll see that it is the same.

I'm sorry to be such a downer on here, but I have some sad news to share. The experimental chemo did not work. They have taken Caiden home to die. The doctor feels the time will be short, short as in maybe a week, probably less.
You can check out his site... www.caringbridge.org/visit/caiden
For those of you who haven't been following this story. Caiden is, at least in my heart, my first child. I moved in to help his mom when he was 6 months old. I lived with him till I got married when he was almost 3. He would be turning 6 the end of November. Though biologically he is not my own child, my heart feels differently. I am to put it mildly, devastated right now.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and thoughts in the past and in the future.

Pam, I cannot tell you how sorry I am. Please know that Caiden is being prayed for and thought of. I'll be holding Iris a little tighter today. Please, please let me know if I can do anything at all.
Pam, I am so sorry. I just read Caiden's website and wept for him and his family and friends. I will keep you all in my thoughts.

Pam, I am so sorry. I can't even imagine going through that. You're all in our prayers.
