Homebirth after 2 c-sections?

I'd really like to hear about experiences with VBACs at home, especially after 2 c-sections. I'm in the "gathering information" stage of making a decision. I have found a team of midwives who I really like, and they are quite comfortable attending a VBAC homebirth. If I didn't have the c-section history, I wouldn't be concerned. Thanks!

Hi Katherine,
Not much time, but I wanted to respond.
Are your scars low transverse?
If so, I wouldn't hesitate one minute. Don't give the sections another thought, in terms of safety. Any birth has "risks," yours no more than any other, really.
Hey, even ACOG lumps "one or two" previous sections together now!
Home birth has been proven again and again to be the safest option for mom and babe. But I'm sure you've done your homework.

A classical incision deserves a bit more thought. Personally, I would still be confident birthing at home. But that's just me, after a lot of experience.

Read or reread Nancy Wainer's books, the key is to be where you truly feel SAFE.Where is that for you?

The only plan I would make for a future birth is to be at home in a pool. For me, this was a step-by-step process. I am there now, no doubt that I would only feel safe at home.

Do you have support at home?

We just had our second baby, VBAC, at home. It was the most AMAZING experience of my life. I felt that my first birth was an unnecessary c-sec (induced, pit, "faillier" to progress) and decided i did not want that kind of care : again.

I really liked Birthlove.com. It has tons of info on VBAC. Also the book Birthing from Within helped me work through all my fear, anger, resentment issues.

The point is birth works, and works best when the mama is supported and loved. My favorite memories are taking a shower with hubby (got me to 9+ cen). And snuggling in bed, my bed! (got me to 10 and pushing).

This all after 5 day of early labor, plus 18 hr active labor. And through it all everyone smiled at me! Thats something you only get at homebirth's.

Katherine, my advice, learn everything you can. Then try to forget everything and listen to your instincs. Dose that make any sence?
