Installed Baby's Carseat

I put Silas' seat in today, with his little head supports and the two seat-back car organizers I got at my baby shower. I vacuumed the car out and got all of the kid's trash out of it, too. I'd really like to steam all of the upholstry, but first, I don't think I have the energy and second, I'm not sure I could handle the emotions that would come welling up if I couldn't get it "clean enough."

Side note: after months of wrangling TWO Britax Regents, I was so pleased to install an easy-to-install Britax seat again. Marathons (and Roundabouts and Boulevards and everything except the Regent, IME) just go in rock solid, no matter where or how you're putting them in.

Charlotte - I swear we have some weird connection vibe or something - we just got in from installing our carseat too!

So, I've been meaning to ask if you made it to 37w before washing clothes? I washed last week after my really crappy OB appointment where she threatened me with induction, but I haven't hung/put away all of the clothes yet. They're in a laundry basket while I decide where they're going to go. :

I haven't washed anything yet! Except for the material I'm using to make things for her nursery. I'm going to try to tie up all the DIY stuff for the nursery this week and start washing next week. That makes it so real!

I just put away the clothes and realized that I only washed about half of them. So I have more washing to do. And I haven't sewn the nursery set yet and DH hasn't finished painting yet, either. If I'm honest, the nursery set probably isn't going to get done before he gets here .

I can't believe I have as much done nursery wise as I've done ... but we still need to buy and put up curtains and do the stuff on her walls. Little things, but still things that will annoy me if they aren't done when she gets here.

Sounds like you have preg brain with the wash! I keep forgetting that I've put stuff in the washer and open the washer two days later ... I'm also just flat out lazy - I have towels on the line and I know we're getting rain in about ten minutes, but guess what, they're still on the line and I'm still here on MDC!

We installed the car seat bases last night. I meant to finish packing my hospital bag but I've not.

I did mine a week or so ago. It makes it seem so real seeing her little seat back there when I am driving right now. I did it to make sure of the seating I wanted for my other kiddos (mainly my 3 year old) and it seems to be working out great!

This thread is really making me want to install my car seat but we might purchase a glider locally and will likely need to fold down the back seat to fit it in our compact car!

Funny...we installed our carseat today too (After celaning all the junk out of the car & vacuuming). Most of the baby;s clothes are washed, washed all the diapers a bunch too but apparently in the wrong detergent, so need to redo that.

Too funny -- We installed ours last night! DD was a little confused by the movement at first, but shes more used to it than me. All day today I took her to the wrong side and when I'd open the door she's say "baby's chair" then point to hers (on the other side) and say "Morgan's chair." LOL. Fun times.

Anybody want to send a memo to my DH about this? He refuses to install ours (even the base) until baby is actually in arms!

I kinda did it to get the kids in the habit of using the other door and sitting next to each other (we've not had good luck with that in the past!), but I'm pretty sure I installed the carseat beforehand with Samuel, too...

I don't think it has to be done early, but *I* like to know that it's in right and I'm not going to be out there at a day or two pp making sure that DH installed it all properly, KWIM?
