Mom's vaccinated/immuned

If the mother was vaxxed for MMR in less than a year before she conceived, does the baby have the MMR immunity too? Any articles about this that any ped would agree?

If the mother had chicken pox in her adult years, does the baby have chickenpox immunity too?

Thanks

Assuming she's breastfeeding, I've read studies that confirm CP immunity (or at least heighted resistance to the disease) Don't know about MMR, though...

From what I understand the immunity only lasts til the baby is a few- maybe 6 months old. It has more to do w/ being passed to the baby through the placenta than w/ bfeeding. I bfed my son and he was 9 months when he got chicken pox and I was immune- so it didn't work for us- but w/ a younger baby it is probably pretty effective.

MEASLES

No, a baby of a vaccinated mother is not conferred that immunity. A baby of a mother who had naturally contracted measles, however, is protected.

From Pediatrics 1996; 97:53-58

Quote:
Mothers who contract measles naturally develop protective antibodies that are passed on to their children during birth. These babies are secure from measles for the first 15 months of life. In contrast, babies born to measles-vaccinated mothers are susceptible to the disease during the crucial early months when measles can be especially dangerous.
Also, to quote from Neil Z Miller's book Vaccine Safety Manual:

Quote:
In 2000, the Journal of Medical Virology published a study demonstrating that blood serum taken from women with natural immunity to the measles virus (due to having acquired measles naturally) has the capacity to neutralize many more wild-type measles strains than blood serum taken from vaccinated women.
The original citation of the above is "Natural immunity to measles yields greater neutralizing capacity than vaccination." Journal of Medical Virology 2000;62:91-98

CHICKENPOX

To answer your question, most likely yes. If mother is immune due to natural infection (whether contracted during childhood or adulthood), protection is conferred to the baby in utero. I've seen different sources say that this protection lasts anywhere between 6 months and 15 months.
