I had posted a few weeks ago about my DH being skeptical of homebirth and looking for ways to convince him that it was the best choice for us. Well, last Tuesday we met with the midwife for almost 2 hours. As soon as we got into the car to drive home, he said, "Let's do it!" Apparently, the midwife calmed all his fears and he is truly excited about going for an HBAC!

Thanks for all the input you gave me here. All the stats really made a difference for him. I'm so excited!

Yay!!! I'm so happy for you! Hope I'll be joining you soon....DH and I are still "discussing" it....I THINK he's lightening up his anti-homebirth stance. I have done LOTS of research -- pretty convinving stuff!

That's great news! Congratulations! Our midwife also helped to "sway" my dh and my mom. Now, after participating in the homebirth, they are some of the biggest supporters.

hehe yay!

didnt stop there for me though, once i had dh convinced, i still kept the homebirth sprouting til he was looking as forward to it as i was!!

Yea for you! and way to go DH!!

Erin, you keep working on your guy. Mine was so scared of homebirth the first time, we just never really discusse it (well, and there was a financial aspsct to it) Unfortunately, it took a very horrible hospital birthing experience to change his mind and now he'll pay anything to ensure that we never go through that again.

The thing that really convinced him was the meeting with the midwife. She addressed each and every one of his fears, one by one.

Where are you in Illinois? I'm Southwest, outside St. Louis.
