Spectacular September in Albuquerque - Page 9

Elm, I'm thinking of you this morning.

M's year-long clearance is one of the last of its kind. Legislation was passed stating that once the investigation is done, adjudication must be completed within one month. That's what delayed his clearance -- there were suddenly hundreds that had to be pushed through under the new law, whereas his was grandfathered under the old law. But it finally came through and we're all very, very happy. We got a sitter and went to the Asian Noodle Bar downtown to celebrate. It's really hard to use chopsticks left-handed while you're nursing your LO.

Left handed is the only way I can eat with chopsticks, but well, it's also how I write, and eat and iron and............

Good luck Elm, I did a barium swallow years ago, kinda cool and not tramatic (not sure how close what you are doing is).

DoulaRN, my kids have days like that also, he'll be home soon.

So today is our 15th anniversary. If I'm lucking I'll see D for about 30 minutes today.

Blue, congrats on the new sweet babe

Happy anniversary, Eman'smom!

Happy Anniversary! Is this the 15th anniversary of your first wedding or the one your family knows about? They're on the same day right?

Doularn, my kids do that when daddy is gone and he's only ever gone for 4 days. How long until he gets back?

The Gastric Emptying Study is a very long test! First I got to "enjoy" radioactive eggs with 2 pieces of toast and half a cup of water. Then I had to lie down under the x-ray for 90 minutes. Let me just say that with what's been going on, laying down after eating makes it worse and I think wheat is also contributing. So I spent the first 30 minutes of the test with stomach cramping and felt like I had to go potty but couldn't move. The second third of the test I went between fine and stomach cramps and burping and the third part of the test I had to pee really bad. It was not fun, but I got it done.

Dh spent that entire time (plus the hour I waited in the lobby) with the kids at the park accross the street. Somehow Little S ended up taking a dive from one of the picnic tables, whacking his head on the concrete. No one saw exactly what he did : and now he has a nasty goose egg and I'm monitoring him for signs of concusion while not being able to nurse which is what he really wants. Today is going to suck.

DH said DD had fun, and thanks for hosting! I also want to thank you for the clothes - the dresses are perfect on C, and she wanted to wear one of them to bed! on the barium stuff, it sounds unpleasant. But if it gets you the information you need on your health, I would think it is worth it. I hope little S gets better soon - it sounds like he is trying to be the little stunt man (DH told me about the tricycle "drag" )

asf - That is so funny about the bet on Z's weight! I was guessing a little more than C, so I am pretty happy I am right on. Have lots of fun on your trip, it is 10 days, right? Or did I make that number up?? DH said he was sorry to have missed you yesterday - C was ready to head for home.

doularn - Well, he came out pretty purple, I think because of some slightly weird positioning. He's now mostly just red all over : The color seems a little deceptive in the photos. I'm still trying to figure out if he will have my skin tone or A's. It is weird, she does seem so much bigger, but she is also acting out a bit more, and wanting to nurse CONSTANTLY. Which can be annoying except I am getting seriously engorged and need her to drain some of the extra milk. I'm sorry that the kids are having a tough time. It is almost over, isn't it?

Emans - Happy anniversary! :

So, is there going to be another pg this week?? C needs more time with friends, and is starting to go stir crazy in the house.

Thank you all for the wonderful thoughts. Y'all are really the greatest friends :

Happy Anniversary, Eman's!

I'm glad you survived the test, Elm, and I hope they find the answers you need to regain your health.

I'm about to get the olders from school, run by the store, come home and do this craft with them:

http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and...&craftid=12054

For the smallest kids, I'll just do one big circle (so one pumpkin). I think it will look very, very cute with H's bat-crazy babylegs.

Congrats to M, KMJ! That's a great craft!

Eman's, congratulations! Sorry that you won't spend much time with him though.

Elm, ugh. I hope this finally gives you some answers!

Blue, Ana came out dark purple (the midwives assured me that it was a good color lol) and then she stayed red for quite awhile. Her skin tone did turn out darker than Adam and Eva's.
I remember Eva wanted to nurse more than Ana in the beginning.

I get the magazine (gift from my SIL) and was thinking of making those. S and dh are obsessed with Halloween right now. We'll be going trick or treating this year for the first time and she cannot wait!

That is a great shirt, you'll have to let us know how they come out.

Blue, M came out pretty blue/purple also, she got a zero for color on her first apgar, but came around quickly (although she is still darker than C and N ), he's so cute and chunky.

It's actually the anniversary of our fist date. We keep all the dates the same so we don't get confused.

Sorry we missed pg yesterday. Yesterday just wasn't good for me. . .had a luncheon for school I had to go to. Learned about white collar crime and the people who commit it. It was interesting, though a bit light on the details. Tomorrow we're going to the fair with my parents. 4 adults and 2 kids shouldn't be too bad at all. Hopefully I'll catch you guys next week.

I've got my colonoscopy on Monday. I'm normally pretty easy-going about med procedures but this one is got me freaked out. It's because I'll know pretty much right away if I've a horrible disease. Met with the doc a few days ago and he confirmed that I have a 30-50% chance of the disease and that if I do, the only option is to do some pretty drastic surgery. Either that or have a 99.99% chance of cancer by age 40. (And that, btw, is no exaggeration, all the literature supports these numbers.) So, I'm trying not to think about it.

KMJ - can't wait to meet you and your little one! They grow so fast, huh?

Blue - glad things are still going OK! Can't wait to meet him whenever you feel up to it.

emans - I had no idea your history was so complicated! You'll have to tell me about it some time.

elmh - your radioactive eggs sound good about now! But lucky for you, you've been through both! I hope they figure out what's going on with you!

: For monday Crazy.

Oh the story isn't as crazy as it sounds we got married on the 5th anniversary of our first date so I could get D on my health insurance and then did the whole "big wedding" thing a year later (same date). We just didn't tell the family that we were already married, because they wanted to see us get married. Oh and don't forget the hurricane that came through.
Good luck Crazy. The hardest part is the waiting. I was sure the doc would tell me I had cancer or Crohn's Disease. The good thing is that, at least with my doc, she told dh and me her findings right away (she was sure I wouldn't remember it because I was supposed to still be under effect of the versed.) Seriously doing the prep was what really sucked because I was nervous and couldn't eat any of my comfort foods

Heartfelt Congratulations Blue :

And Healthful vibes to all...

I just changed the fam bed in sig from one dd to dds. Wishful thinking has not worked as well as I had hoped.

Eman, Little S's SLP and OT want your playdough recipe. Little S was playing with it when they came and they LOVED it. Most homemade doughs suck apparently. Could you post it or pm me with it?
really? I googled "playdoh recipe" and looked for the one I had ingredients for . It was flour salt water cream of tarter and oil, cooked until it made playdoh, I can find the exact one if you want.
Me too for the recipe!
cream of tartar is what makes the dough so awesome and not crumbly.

We should be off early in the morning! : I am so looking forward to vacation but not looking forward to hours in the car with mr hates the car.

I took the kids to get pics this morning since baby C turned 6 months yesterday *sniff* he is too big too fast He annoyed the picture lady because he kept dooing the downward dog and backward crawl as soon as she had the shot she wanted There are a few cute pics though.

I still have to finish packing - it is taking forever!
yes please post it if you can.
elmh - Sure hope you get some answers to this whole health problem soon!!!

crazy - Good luck monday!

asf - Have a safe trip and a wonderful time! I can sympathize with the whole packing thing. After 3 trips out of state from May to August, I am glad not to be doing that again until december!

emans - Hope you and your dh had a happy anniversary yesterday and that you got at least a little time to yourselves! Please do post the playdough recipe if you can find it. I would love to have it too!

Forgot to say have a safe and wonderful trip ASF! And take lots of pics when C meets Mickey! Yes, he's lazy, but he's also right inside the park most of the time so it's a great way to start off the fun! Also, visit Tom Sawyers Island for me. I loved that place when I was a kid and C is totally going to love it!
