September in Vancouver and SW WA - Page 2

Oh no about the laundry...I would be so mad. I would still wear the bras...just think of them as decorated by kids. How is Lilly doing with Rowan...better? AmberLeigh still has her days with Brianna but she sure thinks she is cute and fun.

Well we picked her up and she was happy. She said she had a great day and had lots of fun. So I hope today goes better. I am just waiting for her to wake up. She complained of a tummy ache before bed but she suffers from acid reflux.

Glad to hear AL was in a better mood when she got home. We're still getting things figured out for CVA. Had our first teacher contact today (via email) and wrote 1/2 the Student Learning Plan. Feeling wary of getting involved w/ the ps system even if it is only part time. Will see if it's worth it or not...

Anyone going to Oaks park today? Have you gone before?
Heather, we'd love to see you there I know Kim Railey is going and Kathy (from ACE) too.

Today is Bri's 1st b-day! Can't believe how nice the weather has been. We splurged yesterday big time and bought a Saturn Outlook. AmberLeigh had her reflux appt and she only gained 1 lb in 6 months and doc said she is in the "gray ZOne" for weight and wants to put her on a pill to make her hungry. We are refusing at this point as she is healthy and thriving. Are we making the right decision? I go to see the pediatrician in October for her well check up...I will ask her what she thinks.

: Happy Bday Briana :

Lisa sorry to hear about AL, I wholeheartedly support following your instincts. If she's happy and healthy, why worry about her weight? At least get a second opinion (or third or fourth).

Luli how are things going w/ the allergy stuff? Saw your post on the big thread and just wanted to recommend Dr. Kelly Ownes. She's an ND that works a lot w/ children. She works PT in Battle Ground and PT in SE PDX.

Sure seems slow w/ out Allison. Anyone talked to her lately? Keep thinking I should call and see how she's doing, but I'm such a phone-phobic person

Also, Lilly and Rowan are doing great, btw (I know someone asked). She is adjusting beautifully to being a big sis--not even an ounce of jealousy so far. In fact, it's bringing out some good qualities (like helpfulness and independence!). We had a great time at Oaks Park today. Heather, sorry we didn't get much time to visit.

Amoreena-thanks for asking. For some time now I've been feeling like my bigger boys are falling apart The 3 yr old with his allergies most of them are severe and we've been dealing and changed our diets trying to get that under control. My oldest son has been dealing with some really terrible stomach/gut problems. He's been through an ultrasound, CT scan, numerous blood tests and other labs and nothing has turned up. They want him to see a GI specialist who can't get him in until the 23rd of October!
I am thinking that maybe conventional medicine isn't the way to go. He has awesome ND coverage and I'm convinced that is a step in the right direction. We were able to get an appt with an ND in Vancouver.

So sorry for venting. Had to get that out. I've been bogged down in thick of all of this lately.

Lisa-I also believe that you should follow what you think is best. See what her ped says. Is she otherwise healthy? I hope she is/gets well.

Take Care Mamas

Happy birthday, Brianna!

Luli, I hope the ND is a help! Kid health problems are so tough to deal with.

Oct. 23rd is Nate's birthday. That has nothing to do with anything though.

Glad you had fun at Oaks Park today, Amoreena! It sounded like fun, but way too much effort for me right now. I'm still trying to talk myself into taking the kids to the library tomorrow. Bleh.

Ack! Leslie, Allison! I had an idea for a collab. set. Putting it here 'cause I'm being kicked off the computer by a tiny little 2 year old thug and will need something to jog my memory later.

Anyone else gonna be at the princess party? I still need to get a shower and dressed and get the princess to pick out an outfit.

first week of school went great! I'm really glad C is having a great time and is loving it!

I guess on Fri they talked about chickens and eggs!

and I got a green egg yesterday!!! Now if only luna the austrolorp would start laying. but she might be cause I'm getting a brown egg everyday for the last 3 days, but I haven't seen her sitting in the house.
buckbeak has decided that the house floor is better then the nest box.

I was thinking it would be cool to have a set with a large diaper, longies and color coordinating uuum brain just blanked, what are they called? Those neat bean bag thingies with the beads and finding stuff? Oh my gosh, how could I forget that name? Anyway, those neat things that Allison makes.

But then it occurred to me that a toddler in diapers is maybe not old enough for the beads to be safe. I'm not sure.

The idea struck me when Nate's bag from Allison ... struck me. In the head. After being heaved by Ali. So it wasn't well thought out.

I would dearly love to do something with you two though. When are YOU going to open a store? Your knitting is awesome.

Which reminds me that I need to buy a bar of wool wash and a bit of lanolin to wash and lanolize Ali's shorties and pack them away, since she's done with diapers now. Moth balls, too, since we're still battling the Great Cloth Moth Invasion.

You know what's fun? The back and forth that I've been doing all day Okay, that might be a slightly sarcastic "fun".

Our good computer has Vista and Vista, to put it simply, STINKS. It's not compatible with PSP8. Won't even read the disc. My free trial of the Corel is up and I am not at all comfortable with Gimp yet {and all of my graphics are in .psp format, so I can't use Gimp anyway}. Our old computer, which is in Nate's room is happy to work with PSP8, but doesn't have internet, has wonky color and is clunky and old with a clunky mouse and a sticky keyboard.

So I've been back and forth between the two computers with a CD-RW all day. Grab the photos from C#1 and take to C#2. Edit photos, fix graphics until they look right, take back to C#1. Check photos and graphics, make note of what needs fixing, take back to C#2. Fix, take back to C#1. And on and on and on. Which is much better than it could be, so I need to stop whining, suck it up and deal!

I need someone with a good eye to give me an opinion, if anyone is willing to volunteer, please please please

Does anyone know of a local organization that will come and pick up your unwanted furniture items? Other than freecycle and craigslist?

In Boise we used to call the ARC to come pick up stuff like that.
In Yakima, Salvation Army and Goodwill sometimes would pick up furniture donations.
my cousin had someone come out to take some stuff away, and they charged for it. and then wouldn't even take some of the stuff. gosh the name is on the tip of my tongue....hmmmmm

sounds fun! I need to do a couple of customs before I can commit to it though.

what if it was a large diaper, a dress, and a little purse/bag? not that I'm not up for longies, but they take a longer time.
That sounds great to me!

And I need to finish some stuff first, too. I was thinking... October or Novemberish. We need to get Allison on board!

I finished 13 diapers in the last couple of days. Still have two Olivias, two diaper bags, two messenger bags, six fitted diapers and a few dozen wipes to complete, not to mention photographing, cleaning up the photos, etc. And I have less than a week to get it done. Eep.
