Are you taking prenatal vitamins?

I took them for a few days when we were trying to conceive and they made me so constipated that I got a hemorrhoid. So I stopped taking them. Now I take just a folic acid supplement and pacific salmon oil pill (certified mercury free).

Yes, I am taking Rainbow Light prenatals. Have you considered giving these a try? I have never had 'issues' with prenatals but a very good friend of mine said the RL didn't bother her.

I am taking the Rainbow Light Prenatal as well, and have been taking a prenatal since I was pregnant with my first (as I'm still nursing). I also take a fish (Nordic Naturals).

I'm taking Rainbow Lights. Right now I just tke the Womens One which has about the same things as the prenatal but today I am buying the prenatals. I am going to get the 6 a day because I feel like maybe they are staving off my nausea since I take the one before bed and I wake up fine but by mid afternoon I start to feel yucky. I want to take 2 wth each meal and see how that works. They worked great for me my last pregnancy. The only thing I would change is the taste. i wish they had a coating or something.

I will be taking the Rainbow Light Complete prenatals as soon as I place my order. I think that Rainbow Light is pretty much the best you can find (and I don't recall constipation issues ).

I'm taking the generic (Rite Aid brand) of Stuart Prenatals. They don't bother my stomach at all.

i'm also taking rainbow light complete.

No, I think I take enough other stuff. Coconut oil, cod liver oil, bee pollen, kelp mineral, dandelion root tea, nettle, raw liver, raw milk, and good bone broths to name a few things.

I'm just taking my regular vitamins at this point (mineral complex, B complex, purified cod fish oil w/CoQ10, and kelp). But I'm thinking about buying some New Chaper Prenatals. Anyone tried those?

I've been taking store brand prenatals practically since starting ttc... I do have some trouble with constipation, but I figure it's worth it! I also take Flaxseed instead of Fishoil.

I stopped because whatever is in them is triggering migraines.

I took these supplements before we found out and am continuing to take them:

Alfalfa
Iron
Folic acid
Green supplement
Probiotics
B12 and another B complex
Cod liver oil

So, hopefully that's good enough.

I'm taking the prenatals suggested by my midwife. I also take probiotics, Vit. C (a lot) and fish oil.

I used Prenatal Forte by NF and I'll use them again. They have herbs and vitamins and minerals in them. As a student midwife, when I start as a primary, I will suggest them to my clients too. The Iron is ferrus succinate or ferrus citrate, which is different from ferrus SULFATE which is what is making some of you ladies constipated. I used a "store brand" prenatal for my first baby and took it faithfully every single darn day. I had NO idea how to stop my constipation and I didn't poop for at least 4 days before he was born. I pooped when I was pushing, which was SO embarrassing at the time, and smelled bad. With my other three, I never was constipated, took lots of fiber and better prenatals and no poop during labor! YAY!

I picked up a Womens one a day prenatal that came with a dha supplement also. It was on sale so I thought I'd try it. I have had problems with throwing them up my last two pregnancies. I also take Vit C.

Also is it safe or neccessary0 to take a B-Complex with the prenatal. I was taking a B-Complex b-4 getting preggo and wonder if I should continue to take? Anyone know?

Not sure what I'll switch to after I run out?

I'm still taking my Trader Joe's prenats and fish oil. I don't have any TJ's near me anymore, though, so I'll have to find another brand... Thanks for the rec's!

Unfortunately, we live in Italy and I don't think any of the brands mentioned above exist. The brand I started taking was Multicentrum A-Z but, as I said in my original post, they're too constipating.

I'm taking a prenatal and a B-Complex. I've been taking the Prenatal for a long time and started the B-Complex a few months ago. I plan to keep taking both, possibly my entire pregnancy, as I don't want to make any major changes!

I'm taking the rainbow light 6 a day ones. I think I've only taken all 6 once since I found out I was pregnant (3 days ago, in my defense!) They're such ginormous horse pills! And its so hard to remember to take 2 3x a day. Bah. When I run out I'm going to buy the kind that is just 1 a day. (Remind me that the better I am at remembering to take all 6 a day, the faster I'll run out!) Today I tried crushing them and mixing it into a smoothie. The smoothie tasted like.. well.. like vitamins. Couldn't finish it. So much for THAT plan! Its so hard to swallow huge pills once morning sickness kicks in. Hopefully I'll be switched to the once daily ones before that starts.
