after a day of painting - climbing up & down a ladder - I'm in PAIN

lower back/hip pain - I know it's cuz I'm pregnant.

I have an awesome pregnancy masseuse, but I don't know if that's better than a chiro???

thanks!

I did A LOT of painting during DD2's pg, my chiro was my best friend during that pg. I had massages, they would help, but my chiro almost always made all the pain go away.

I second the chiro suggestion. I had alot of hip pain in my last pregnancy and the chiro helped alot (although a good massage would be great for the muscles!). I'm really early in this pregnancy, but just had my first chiro appointment today.

I prefer massage.

I prefer massage...those muscles have to be nice and loose for the chiro to adjust well...so if you've got achy muscles and then go the chiro...it might not help at all. I second the massage then if your still having issues then chiro next.

A chiro will help your body's structure and allow it to be in proper alignment. Massage will feel good but you won't get long lasting healing from it.

Both! Why not split the visits up?

If your muscles are tight, they can pull you out of alignment and vice versa.

I think that massage and chiro care go hand and hand and doing both helps increase the benefits of each service.

I get both at this point...but chiro is the ONLY thing that has helped my back and hip pain. I also do yoga and stretching, but those also haven't touched the back and hip pain. If there's any misalignment, massage won't help very much on its own. But, as some PP mentioned, they go hand-in-hand. I will often schedule my massage and then go to the chiro after -- having my muscles loosened up definitely helps my adjustment.

I vote for both.

definatly BOTH!!! I also had the same thing happen after painting... my chiro and massage therapist are in the same office so i saw them both and it was immediate relief! But i have to admit i much prefer the massage... just feels good!!

I recommend CranioSacral Therapy - it's awesome for balancing the uterus, ligaments, and pelvis, to resolve low back, pelvic, and ligament pain in pregnancy.

Also, I think both massage and chiropractic are helpful as well - but I think Craniosacral is the BEST!

: Although the best thing I've found for pain is acupuncture!

thanks for all the input. i was able to schedule a good massage for this morning ... worth every penny. wish i could find a chiro close enough to my house (I've had recommendations, but they just aren't convenient enough ... I have issues with driving). But the massage was perfect. I used her 4.5 years ago with last pregnancy - it was actually really nice to see her again.

the pain got better through the week, but I know that I'll need more "therapy" regularly since I've got to paint 9 more rooms!!!

thanks again
